This book is STUNNING!!! Every single spread is absolute perfection. The content and imagery are such a pleasure to read and enjoy. The styles highlighted in this book are classic and expertly executed- a touch traditional balanced with clean lines and edited accessories. I cannot day enough wonderful things about Marie Flanigan and her talent. This book is a MUST BUY/MUST READ! Love, LOVE!

Many can look at the rooms pictured in this book and recognize beauty when we see it, but how few of us can create this from scratch, and bring this beauty into our own home? Marie explains how by teaching the use of nine elements in designing a beautiful room- a teaching which we can apply to our own homes. She reveals her secrets, allowing us to see beauty from her perspective as a well-known interior designer. She even relies on the element of surprise, which is a divine spark found in the creative work of only a select few. After reading this book, I have a much deeper appreciation for the hard work of interior designers in bringing an older dwelling to new life. This is a beautiful book showing interiors with wonderful details. The interiors shown are a cross between traditional and contemporary and basically neutral. A great tutorial on how to bridge the gap between the two. Traditional brought into the twenty first century.

The media could not be loaded.  Haven’t even got to introduction but already dissatisfied with quality of book. Spine cracked and torn and pages pulling out.

Sadly this author fell into the trap of trying to write prose instead of divulging an intriguing dialog. Both the visuals and narrative fall into the "vanilla" category. Both the text and visuals sadly fall in with most books on interior design—very vanilla. Her design decisions fall short of what I expected from a seasoned designer.

More monochromatic than my personal taste but lovely all the same. Great photos of fantastic homes

This is one of the most beautiful coffee table books on interior design that I have purchased. Each interior space is different and seem to reflect the personality and needs of the residents per the content unlike some books on the subject. I will keep this designer in mind for future projects.

This a beautiful book in its own right. The book provides great information on composition and creating ambience. Whether you are a novice or a professional this is a fantastic interior design book, especially if you enjoy traditional meets contemporary styles, if you choose to follow the advice laid out in the book you will have a home that is both stylish and timeless.
