The Nerd and The Jock
Blair comes from humble a background where her mom works a lot of hours. It was not an ideal situation for her and her younger brother, because her mother always felt a need to feel loved by a man. Therefore, she had quite a few until the next, one would clean out her checking, and savings account. Putting her family once again in dire straits.Leaving Blair with many insecurities about finances, men, and true love. She was a beautiful young lady, who is highly intelligent, and dedicated to her family and the few true friends she has. Books are more important to her than attending any party going on, on campus. But, on this night she gave her word to a fairly new friend, that she would attend a frat party. After going far beyond all her comfort zones, and not finding a said friend, she was about to head out. When one of the most popular guys on campus, and the football team chat her up, they have a verbal sparing. This meet-cute changes both their lives on campus and each other's emotional beings. And all it took was a school Nerd to pour a beer over the head of the popular football jocks head. And tells, Cage ‘no.’ It secures a bet by the football team that he could get her to ‘fall for him.’Cage is a full-on rich jock. He is plagued with a lot of pressure from, his alcoholic father. He doesn't care about him. It is all about his standing in football. As well as, him doing well enough, to make it into the NFL. His father uses his fist, and intimidation to make his point. It’s when the coach hires, Blair to tutor, Cage that the story takes off. You start to see the walls, that they have had so highly erected, start to crumble. What a good story. Loved this series.****There is bullying and verbal and physical parental abuse that can be a trigger.****

Cage & Blair
Gotta love this story of the nerd and the jock. Blair is the first girl who has ever turned Cage down. Now what starts out as a bet turns into something more real for both of them. Blair even gives him the courage to finally stand up to his physically and emotionally abusive dad.

Another win for this phenomenal writing duo
JL Beck and C Hallman are two of my favorite authors. I’ve read them for quite some time now. I adore their books. I find myself repeating praises because, quite honestly, it’s what they deserve. Their stories are fresh, original, interesting and well written. In one of my earlier reviews of one of their books I asked “In how many different ways can you say these two write excellent books?” It gets to be a bit of a dilemma, this trying to write new and original reviews for these two. They are consistent in their quality. And here, in The Jock, are the praises going to sound familiar if you’ve read my reviews of their previous works. They are prolific writers, producing excellent stories, and The Jock sits easily with all of the rest. This story pulled at my heart. I went on a journey with these characters while they grew in spirit and matured into decent adults. I went through their heartaches and their joys. It is an emotional read, rendered very well. Blair and Cage are easy to care for, to root for, to hope for. Their struggles are upsetting. Their story draws you in and holds you close until its sigh worthy conclusion. I loved every page. Highly recommended.

Great book
A book about a guy who is a manwore. And the need who throws her beer on him only to make a bet that he could make her fall in love with him. And then he is the one who falls head over heels.

Cage and Blair
I’m not usually into College age romance but this was a decent read. It’s very insta and had some steamy scenes. I didn’t love that he literally calls her “nerd” and “virgin” as if they were cute nicknames, but I did love that when he knew she was his he went after her and didn’t care what anyone thought.

Would recommend
I've read other books from these authors so when I saw enemies to lovers I expected something different, darker I guess. However, this was a good book that I would recommend.

OK
This was an ok read. Not like the others in the series. I found myself skimming some chapters. Will give the next book a try.

A good series
First off, I'm really hoping this series isn't over yet. I'm not done in this world yet.Second of all, I went into this expecting one thing and got something else. Not that it's a complaint or anything, Cage and Blair hooked me from the start and I was rooting for them. They each have walls way high up, but for different reasons. And I thought this was going to go one way, but luckily it didn't.I really love getting lost in a book by this author duo. They're quickly becoming a pair that when I see they have a new release coming, I get super excited about it.

Cage & Blair
The jock is a installment in the Northwood series. It's about a football player Cage Wilder and a nerd Blair. It's hot with passion and erotic sex scenes. What surprised me the most with the emotional connection that these two have. Wow i love this lovestory.

Who doesn’t love a jock and a nerd?
I love this series of books that can be read as standalones. They just keep getting better. All the emotions are there as usual. If you’re looking for a steamy, sexy read that will make you angry, laugh, and cry then pick this one up.
