Nice
With a color of 3,000 I was hoping for something closer to 2,700 than 5,000, but this is acceptable. Just do not expect it to look like a incandescent bulb. On the plus side, it is a truer white than every other LED bulb I have tested (as opposed to blue/pink/green/yellow/orange tinted). I was a bit surprised when my rather picky graphic designer spouse approved of it.The brightness seems to be fairly represented. It is noticeably brighter than a 75w Par38 halogen bulb (which should = 1,100 lumens). It did not fit at all into our 5" ceiling fixtures, and I had to disassemble our 6" fixture to get it to fit and straighten out this bulb's springs to keep them from bending the retainer inside the fixture. It is a rather deep bulb and you will need a rather deep fixture. The springs are very stiff and their shape as arrived bends our fixture before the spring will compress enough to get past the bend.It has two set of holes to mount the springs onto the bulb, one set that is higher and on a smaller diameter than the other set (the former for 5" and the latter for 6" fixtures). They are held in place by a screw and nut. All the pieces come in a separate bag. You will need a Philips screwdriver. The light is wide angled and diffuse (no harsh shadows as a narrow flood light will give you). I like it a lot in that respect. Enough to keep it, despite the non 2,700 color and difficult to fit spring system. There are not a lot of 1200 lumen, wide angled, diffuse, attractive-in-appearance Par bulb alternatives. The US-standard-Edison-screw-medium-base-E26 pig tail worked well. It latches into place into the base of the bulb and easily unlatches and allows you to avoid screwing in the entire fixture. This would easily be 5 stars in my home if it were rated at 2,700K and also included a more standard V shaped spring system and actually did fit into 5" fixtures. As they are however, I will only be buying the one.

Luminous LED buzzing
I've installed 22 of these in my home, and have just ordered 4 more for the garage. In layman's terms, these give an extremely bright white light. One unit was sufficient to light our walk-in closet. We replaced all the recessed lighting in the home, and noticed we had different cans in different locations, although all 6". I had some installation problems, which I first attributed to the wires, as did other reviewers. I actually found out that it was not the spring wires, but the depth of the individual cans. The light electrical pigtail wires were pressing on the top of the can & pushing the light assembly out. With most of the cans, I undid the interior backplate wing nut adjustment, slid the interior plate to the top, and the light assembly fit fine. Two cans, which were non-standard, had to be replaced. The product seems fine, but the customer service, well, not so much.Buzzing: I did not notice a buzzing in the lights, but I did get buzzing in the dimmer when I tried to replace it.I purchased one of the dimming Luxor switches recommended on the Luminus package. It buzzed loudly at low levels.I called Luxor. Luxor claimed they have no knowledge of this brand, never tested these lights with their switches, and that some manufacturers will list their LED switch products without consultation. He told me that I need to find out if the Luminous lights are "mag low or electric low voltage".So I called Luminous in Canada and talked to Marcel Piel at extension x237. He said he did not know, but would call me back in a couple days after he talked to the plant in China. He did not. He had also said that there may be "something else" on my circuit that is causing the buzzing. There is nothing on this circuit except for 7 of these lights.I put the "old" dimmer switch in and they work fine, but I still want to replace the switch due to it being cream vs. white.I would be interested in finding out if someone else has found a dimming switch that works, or has had similar problems.

Works!
The light was exactly the same as the ones I purchased from Costco a couple years ago but this one was very expensive compared to what I bought at Costco. No problem replacing the old with the new.

This was the same light I purchased from Costco a few months past; however, it appeared the mounting configuration was slightly different but everything worded out well. Thanks

worst design ever
purchased 10 of these fixture, I installed 10 recessed light fixture housing in 3 hrs including measurements, spacing, and cut holes. it took 4 hrs to install these fixture.First you have to install spring to the fixture with right anglesprings are not flexible at all, when try to put them in to the housing would not be able to push it up, it weather breaks the piece in the housing or spring itself bends badly you have to use tool to correct it again, if using shallow housing need to clip end of the springs. If you are DIY person DO NOT BUY unless you are really handyman with lot of creativity to make this fixture work.If you are professional installer get ready to waste a lot of time to install this junk.

Yellowish brightness.
Lights have a yellowish color to it. I was looking for something more white like daylight. The brightness is amazing. Highly recommended. I have not found anything so bright in the market. I gave it a four star due to the yellowish light brightness.

A bit brighter than other LEDs
Pros: Very easy to install. Cons: Very bright. in fact to bright for most standard uses. Dimmers are a must with this light.

Bright & efficient recessed light
Easy to fit.approx. twice as bright as regular 65watt reflector lamps.I like them, but I had one customer who thought they were too bright, even when used with a dimer switch set to approx. 10%!!!If you like a really bright light at 3000K then this is the best you can get.
