Love everything about it!
I have tried atleast a dozen different organic coconut oil brands before purchasing this one. I always feel like they should be...better. Well, there was something better...THIS ONE! The packaging is fantastic. I ordered the 1 gallon jug. It was sealed very well in heavy container (think 5 gallon paint bucket) unlike others I've tried with twist on lids that just deemed unreliable for their size. Upon opening, there was a sweet, deep, rich smell of coconut. The oil was smooth and soft and easy to scoop, not chunky and inconsistent like some I've used prior. The taste is light and wonderful, like whipped coconut milk. I will say that I transfer a reasonable amount into a recycled glass container for practical use and keep the plastic container on a cool storage area, but order the large size to save money. I'm in love! I WILL stick with this brand! Thank you for integrity in your product!!

If you enjoy coconut oil, you won’t need any other brand after trying this.
So, fun fact: I ordered 2 of these gallon sizes completely by accident! I only meant to order one, but then 2 showed up at my doorstep. I was already on the fence about buying such a large quantity to begin with, and then I had 2. Ok, so before jumping the gun and sending one back, I thought I’d try it out, ya know? To see if it was a worthy investment. Yep, this is coconut gold. I love this stuff. I love that it’s from a small family owned company, I love the smell, and I love the container!!! We are a big homesteading family and I take great pleasure in buying the ingredients we can’t grow/make ourselves in bulk. This brand of coconut oil has made it to the “for keeps” list of ingredients. Thank you for the quality product, folks!

Excellent Coconut Oil
We love this coconut oil! We use it for all our pan frying, deep frying, and baking. Deep fried foods are amazingly light and crispy, without the usual unpleasant after-effects associated with greasy food. Pan fried chicken/chicken fried steak is never soggy or heavy, and the gravy made from the drippings is wonderful. This has a very light coconut scent and flavor, which is often canceled out by the flavor of the food being cooked. Yet, using it in homemade pancake batter or muffins adds a delightful subtle coconut hint which enhances the flavor. This coconut oil does not get rancid. I buy it in the five gallon bucket, which lasts about two+ years, and it keeps beautifully.I still use olive oil for certain recipes, and the only other fats we use are butter or lard. Hydrogenated or other over-processed, rancid vegetable oils have not crossed our threshold in years. Yes, coconut oil is expensive, but the health benefits, quality and shelf life are worth it.

Good quality extra virgin coconut oil
This is as good a quality product as any I've bought and I've bought a lot of coconut oil. I also use it as face cream, and will try it on my hair as well, but have not yet. Of course, I will put it in a separate container for that, not dish it out in the kitchen and bathroom at the same time (!)This is the oil with the flavor still of coconut, so I use it mainly for baking, or in food items that I don't mind the flavor of coconut. It is very healthy, and well worth the research to look into this and discover the health benefits.I really like the price from this seller as well, for their own products that they sell. Very competitive priced. Wish Amazon would do fulfillment so it was eligible for free shipping, but guess the stars haven't aligned in the heavens for that yet.

UPDATED: Terrible aftertaste, non-existent customer service.
UPDATE: 2/2/2015 ==> Updating to 3 1/2 stars (but since I have to choose either 3 or 4 stars, I'm going with 4 stars since it seems like a high-quality oil)1) The company did eventually issue a refund. No idea why it took so long for them to respond. If they had responded promptly (within the 3-week window Amazon allows) the issue wouldn't have been escalated through Amazon's refund escalation channels, and the company/product wouldn't have gotten such a harsh rating from me.2) Product rating still takes a 1-star hit for its terrible packaging, and for the manufacturer's poor customer service. Normally on Amazon you're rating and reviewing based solely on the product itself, but because this product is fulfilled by the manufacturer rather than Amazon, the manufacturer's customer support becomes part of the product experience.3) I still think the coconut oil itself is very high quality. And, much to my surprise, after getting used to it, the aftertaste isn't so bad. In fact, my palette has become quite agreeable to it. This is part of the reason I am raising my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. In the end you're looking for high-quality coconut oil, so it seems to me the rating should be based mostly on that. Just know there might be a palette break-in period.========================== Original Review Follows =================================Fully expected to love this coconut oil. Turned out to be a terrible experience:1) Product Packaging: No idea what these folks were thinking... but this packaging is the worst I've ever come across. I actually had to call the company to find out how to get into it. Their response "Well, most of our customers try wedging a screwdriver between the lid and container, but some attempt to saw through the lid with a utility knife where the indentations are."I have no idea why they don't use any of the convenient re-usable 1-gallon containers... like all the other companies use. Utterly ridiculous that I have to call the company to figure out how to get into their product. I want a container that is resealable. With this one, I have to find another container to store it in once I get it open.2) Terrible Aftertaste: The product has all the indications of being a top-quality coconut oil. Even after you get the package open and look at the coconut oil, it looks like a very pure, high quality product. The problem is its aftertaste. It ranges somewhere between the taste of soap and.... brace yourself.... vomit. No, I'm not being harsh, that is what the aftertaste reminds me of. I've purchased a lot of different coconut oils over the years (RoseMountainHerbs, Nutiva, etc.) -- all of them unrefined, organic, cold pressed -- and this is the first one I've come across that's difficult to choke down.3) The Company: I tried getting a refund and the company never replied to any of my inquiries.
