Toscana wood classic rocking chair

The style is attractive, but at this price the consumer also expects good workmanship. There are numerous flubs in the wood, including: a slat in the seat has a corner sliced off as if by a saw. Thank goodness the second flub was on the under side. There were two BIG splinters where dowels had been forced through the wood before holes were cleanly drilled. There was no other remedy but to yank out these splinters, leaving "wounds' in the wood. The paint/finish was unevenly sprayed on; some places have no paint at all. Quality control, if Toscana has it, was sleeping on the job the day this chair came down the line. Companies should realize they miss out on future business by cutting corners (pun intended) in workmanship. Yes, I kept the rocker only because it is too much trouble to repack and return furniture.

We ordered this rocking chair for my mother-in-law to rock her new grandbabies to sleep. Expecting to get the walnut color, we opened it on Christmas morning and while the quality was great, especially for the price, it was the white color instead. When I emailed Toscana explaining that all the photos were walnut and even the description said walnut but we got white I was expecting a challenging response, and a cumbersome return process since it was such a large item. BUT, they emailed me back very promptly apologizing, saying I was 100% correct that it should have been walnut and that since it was such a large item we could just keep the white one for our trouble and they would send us a new one in walnut!! So, we ended up with two great rocking chairs! It's even better that these are indoor/outdoor so now my mother-in-law can rock her grandbabies on the porch and inside. It's so rare any more that you are able to find such great customer service, especially over the holidays.

I've been looking for a rocking chair for my front porch for weeks and am so happy with my purchase. The chair looks great and is super comfortable. I also love that I can take the cushions on and off to protect them if it looks like rain!

Delivery took a week, but it was worth the waiting.I highly recommend this chair, my friends bought it to me as a birthday gift.
