PVC True Union Ball Valve with Full Port, Two Piece, PTFE Seat, EPDM Seal, 1-1/2" Socket/NPT Threaded

I purchased two of these valves to replace my original equipment pro-line pool valves. I also took a look at Hayward's valves and purchased a Hayward as well. I have to say that the quality of this GF+ valve is superior to all I looked at. It's a heavy ball valve! After reviewing the specs, this valve supports much higher PSI and temperatures than the Hydro Canada brand that is cheaper and for sale. The fit and finish was better than the Hayward too. The Hayward had some marks on the outside of the plastic - looked like the plastic mold marks from manufacturing. It's not as if the marks would hurt the seal but it just speaks to the quality of the plastic molding process. This GF+ valve was smooth all over and is a "true union" valve. Opening and closing the ball valve requires a little bit of effort but unlike other high end valves, you don't need to apply maximum pressure. The plastic housing is made of schedule 80 and the rubber seals inside are high quality. I bought two of the 1 1/2 size openings and the boxes came with both slip and threaded terminals. NOTE: You will not find anything close to this at the big box hardware stores. The ones that they sell are plain white pvc and do NOT hold up. I have a lot of sun and inclement weather and the valves take a beating from the sun. These valves are so well built, I'm confident that they will last longer than my last ones (1 year). I hate to keep comparing them to the Hayward but that is the closest match. The handle on this GF+ valve is much better than the Hayward. It offers an easier non-slip grip and seems like it's heavier gauge and will last.

Great full flow ball valve. No restrictions when open so is great for a sewage pump line. Very smooth and easy opening and closing. Nothing like the cheap valves sold by the big box stores which are restrictive and almost impossible to open or close. Providing both slip and threaded terminals is great.

Nice to have the different fittings included as I needed one of each for a retrofit in a commercial setting. Good quality internal seals which may not have needed my normal... take it apart and wipe everything that moves with silicone grease. Cheap insurance. I also like that the molds and deburring process for these valve parts didn't leave a lot of rough or sharp plastic junk at the seams and edges -- a mark of a quality process and an indicator of a valve that will last due to attention to detail.

A nice, small ball valve that worked very well for outdoor piping. More costly, but works much better than the cheap ones sold by big box stores.

WELL BUILT VALVE. I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH BOTH OF THE VALVES I ORDERED. I CANNOT GET THEM TO CLOSE ALL THE WAY. I HAVE CLEANED THEM DISASSEMBLED THEM AND CLEANED STILL WON'T CLOSE. IT MAY BE MY APPLICATION OF IRRIGATION.

The valve did not close completely. When the valve was in the closed position the ball port remained substantially open for water to pass. The manufacturing process obviously lacked inspection of their products.

Pros:Valve handle is a wrench to adjust the ball tension. Very convenient, especially for low pressure rain barrel systems, where you can reduce the ball preload to make the handle easier to turn.Full port valve.Good fit & finish.Teflon seats.Cons:The handle is a little sharp, but you only notice it if you are tapping the handle back onto the valve with your palm.

Didn’t have the mounting base as shown on the photos. It’s bad that the photos are not showing what you actually getting.
