Be aware
After checking online I purchased this item as a disk to load, I’m 72 brought up with pen and ink so not so comfortable with technology. I installed the virus protection, ran a scan and everything looked OK, the next time I went on the computer the Bitdefender had literally disappeared off the computer, I thought it must be a glitch so reinstalled it. Then the newly installed protection refused to scan for viruses by this time I’d lost all confidence in the product so requested a refund.I received a call from a gentleman that was at first quite pleasant then when I explained his reaction was somewhat different. What do you mean! Have you done this, have you done that.I reiterated that I just wanted a refund; I was informed that as I’d used the key (well how else was I to register the product?) I couldn’t send it back. Also he was covered by the consumer credit act of 2013 which if he checks this was updated in 2015 to cover items ‘not fit for purpose’Then he’d also informed Amazon that it was my computer that was at fault, I purchased a different virus protection and that is running quite happily on my ‘defunct’ computer thank you.I would not purchase anything from this seller again.

Good value
This boxed DVD was cheaper than Bitdefender's own update. I've used this total security software for years and found it easy to install and use. It flags up any unsafe websites and images that are being used as backdoors for phishing attempts. As it can be used to protect five devices, I've installed it on three household PCs and laptops. As long as you follow the instructions it's easy to install.

Great and reliable PC security
I've used Bitdefender Total Security since 2016 and normally use the internal update / renewal option every year. Bizarrely, it was cheaper for me to buy the latest version off Amazon than it was to update the digital version via Bitdefender. It's a slick interface, does a good job of picking up risks and doesn't slow the system down. Well recommended.

Sharing licenses
Bitdefender has positive reviews regarding internet security and I have no reason to doubt it's effectiveness. The Total Security option comes with 5 licenses and I sent a link to my son who works abroad so that he could install Bitdefender on his PC at no extra cost. However, despite numerous attempts, including emails from Bitdefender's technical support, I still have 4 unused licenses and my son does not have a Bitdefender installed on his PC. I am unlikely to be renewing my license.

Seems to be working well
It seems to be working well. However, it is difficult to judge its effectiveness until a reasonable time has elapsed. One problem which may or may not be due to the installation was the face recognition logon failed intermittently and was cured by loading Windows 10 repair.

Defender is an appropriate description
I have been using Bit Defender for several years now and have always found it totally reliable, great value for money and consistently high rating in tests of security software
