Stubby Slim Tire Tool

Awesome tool probably made out of Delrin.I like it better than aluminum tools and the Stubby Slim version (one without grips) is my favorite.The Stubby Slim version is also nice if you want to install your own type of grips.Very straight forward to use, but recommend reading the instructions first at [...]For beginners, the most important thing to know from the instructions is:"All rims have what is called a "Drop Center".This is the [inside] hump in the center of the rim where the spoke nipples go through.The reason this hump is there is to give the tire [bead] a place to "sink" into when you are pulling the tire off the other end."When changing tires you must allow the bead to enter the drop center,or it will be impossible or extremely difficult to get the tire off of or on to the rim.Anyone who has broken this tool probably did not allow the bead to enter the drop centeror perhaps had very low profile tires.

I bought these to help me with changing the front tire on my Goldwing GL1800 Trike. They are strong, non-metallic, durable and are not likely to mar surfaces as a real tire iron would. My delight in this tool is that I've come to use them in just about anything that needs a little extra leverage or push with minimal damage. I use them in carpentry, plumbing and just about any household repair that needs a little force. I bought it for one purpose and use it for many, many more that I thought. As an honorary (self-proclaimed) "Tim the Tool-Man" I am pleased with this purchase.

These stubby tools are excellent. I love the fact that they won't scratch or damage the rim. Changed 2 sets of tires with these and had no issues. I'm glad I invested in these tools.

Great lever. I saw where some break the tip off. Just be sure to watch close when using. If the tip deflect then one has not gotten the bead positioned correctly to lever it off.
