hot to touch plate but if you do not coveryour mug no help. if youcannot find a totally flat bottom cup under 3 inches across . the mug does not kake enough contact with the hio plate to keep it warm , it might help last half hour or so then drink gets too cold to enjoy.. i will continue to search for flat bottom mug..

This product is a really great, ingenious idea. As i work from home (and am prone to getting a little bit too overly absorbed in my work) it often seems to me that from the moment i lovingly prepare and pour myself a cup of extra strength coffee or a nice weak tea, then start to take that first wonderful sip it has already turned a ghastly, tasteless, ice cold that gives me quite a startle and creates such an awful aftertaste that i need to drain the whole cup down the sink. I then proceed to make another one only to find that the same thing has happened again, so that in the end not only have i wasted a few cups of coffee or tea, wasted my own personal time ( which really is not good when you are trying to keep a close eye on the bank balance and you are a busy person such as myself) but i have also had to give up the drink which lightens my mood and provides me with that much needed morning boost.Then i came across this great, handy gadget on amazon and quickly came to the realization that this is exactly what i had been looking for over the last few years. But i have to be completely honest and admit that i was slightly skeptical about how well this product would function, i stupidly thought that since it was plugged into my laptops usb it surely could not generate enough heat energy to keep my coffee at a nice temperature. But at the amazing, affordable price i thought why not give it a try (i really could not stand another day of finding myself about to take a sip of hot coffee only to find it was freezing) , and decided to purchase it. And all i can say is, how wrong was i. The SHINYSIBLINGS USB Coffee / tea / milk warmer does its job perfectly and now i never have my hot beverage reduced to a tasteless, cold slop. It is really simple to use and the fact that you do not have to install annoying software to use it is a HUGE bonus. Simply plug it in to your computer or laptops USB drive and it immediately begins to heat up. It is so simple to use, which is a very pleasant change in todays overly complicated, technological world.Not only am i immensely satisfied with this product but my young daughter has also became a huge fan of it. She will often come downstairs, unable to sleep and i will pour her a nice glass of milk and with the USB warmer heat it up to a lovely temperature for her. And after drinking that she is out like a light. It has also sparked some creativity in her and she often designs recipes and creates drinks that she would love to try heated up.Overall this has been one of the most useful purchases i have ever made. It does its job perfectly and it is wonderful to constantly have my coffee and tea at a wonderful temperature.

i’m a coffee drinker and have been since I came out of the womb. My mom wouldfix us hot coffee every morning for breakfast (Nescafe) . It’s no wonder that now, every morning at about8:30am, I make myself a cup of hot coffee. It doesn’t matter if it’s Spring,Summer, Fall or Winter, my day wouldn’t be complete without a cup of coffee. Thething is though, I’m a sipper, not gulper. By the time I drink the last drop, myhot coffee has turned into cold coffee… bleh! So, whenAmazon sent me the USB Cup Warmer,I was anxious to see if it might keep my coffee warm to the last drop.The USB Cup Warmer is a pink and white very girly colorUSB cable extending out of one end.You then plug the USB connector into a free USB port, where it will draw enough power to warm the wrap and the cup thatit is enclosing. By the way, it’s a good idea to put the wrap on beforeyou fill the cup up with boiling hot water. Wrestling with the wrap while thecup is full, is a good way to spill hot water on your hand… ouch!

This little mug warmer is quite adorable with it's little pink and white design. It keeps my coffee warmish but not hot.

I've used similar products for years and this one does not compare. It simply does not keep coffee warm.
