I bought this display to use as a primary notes display in my podcasting setup, I needed something high resolution, low profile and HDMI compliant. I bought this because it listed HDMI compatibility, had a small screen size, and high resolution. The description also promised USB3.0 powered.The good:-two mini HDMI ports-includes mini to full size HDMI adapter-includes full size and mini to full size HDMI cable-VERY high contrast IPS panel that has amazing gamut-sturdy aluminum enclosure-OK speakersthe bad:-not powerable by USB, had to use included power adapter to get any life out of it. tried on two separate machines.-mini HDMI is a pain. would prefer full size port(s).

I really wanted to like this monitor, but after some time of using it (bought early 2019) I just can’t recommend it.The body is made of metal which is a good marketing tactic to make you think it’s built solid, but when you hold the monitor you can tell it’s flimsy and isn’t as stable as you would think. After a week I lost one of the small screws that was in the back. It shouldn’t have fallen out in the first place.The ports are misaligned with the edges so it’s difficult to plug in the power cable or other cables without jimmying it in.That being said, it constantly flashes when in operation and no cables are loose. I’ve adjusted my computer video settings and it still flashes.I do like the stand which is adjustable and fairly solid. This is the only nice thing that came with the monitor.I’ve really tried to like this monitor and support smaller/newer businesses but this is just not a good monitor. It’s not worth over $100 imo.EDIT:As of now, in 2021 this monitor has started to die. The screen is fading and the edges are whiting out. This monitor hasn’t moved from its spot during the pandemic and has been used every day, so this WILL NOT LAST. Get a monitor from a proper and reputable company.

I've owned this portable monitor now for over a month and I am pleased with its performance. I use it on my Raspberry Pi 3B+ as well as my laptops and desktop. My monitor arrived with the OSD set to Italian, but it wasn't difficult to change that to English. The OSD was easy to navigate after getting familiar with the controls.The monitor seems solid. It's not light weight at just over 2 pounds, but reasonable (to me) when taking into account the sturdy build. Adding on the cover/stand increases the weight to almost 3.5 pounds. It now has some time traveling with me and is holding up well, albeit for only 5 weeks at this point. Attached is a picture of the monitor while attached to my desktop GTX 980 ti and a standard Windows 10 background.The IPS panel is acceptable. Motion seems to be fine while watching video. The screen looks fine aside from some backlight bleeding in the bottom right corner and just to the left of center on the bottom, . Fortunately, for me, I rarely can notice the bleed, so I'm not concerned about it. I noticed one of the screws on the side is somewhat "stripped", so taking it apart might be a little challenging if required someday, but not a big deal. I don't see any dead pixels. Viewing angles are acceptable. The speakers aren't anything special as they have little to no low range, but I didn't purchase this for the sound.Basically, this monitor is doing exactly what I wanted it to do, and has delivered what I expected of it.

Well my support window ended on July 27th and my product stopped working on July 30th. Can you say very disappointed....My problem is simple, both output ports stopped working. So I can power it up, but I can't get a connection from my computer. (Any of them)I bought two of these, I am thinking I will start planning for the other one to stop working soon.Sigh.

I was conflicted about returning this but in the instructions and on the website it showed a more robust monitor stand and when it shipped it arrived with a flimsy wire holder but didn't keep things from tipping Etc. The actual monitor form factor is terrific but I had nagging concern as I opened the package when it arrived that it was not in a factory sealed box there was no instruction manual and some of the parts looked like they have been opened. There were smudged fingerprints on the case. That was strike one. Strike two was it the touch screen did not work. they do not make it clear enough in their marketing material posted for sale that the touch screen only works when it's configured in a particular way. And perhaps the worst issue which I will call strike three is that it requires a USB C interface and our laptops at work are old school so in order to use the monitor I had to use I can't remember now either HDMI or a Serial port and in either case my Dell from work did not like it at all. That meant the touch screen feature functionality I really wanted was a no-go. They are not alone as manufacturers take shortcuts to make the products cheap it puts a burden of conductivity and interfaces on the customer suffice it to say there is no bi-directional HDMI to USB C so the laptop as master needed to be in the driver's seat. That meant very limited options to interconnect.

I purchased this device to use with my FireTV and Nintendo Switch. Both of them look great on the screen, which is nice and bright, and which is very close to being the same size as my iPad Pro 12.9" (which unfortunately does not accept video input). Although this portable monitor is almost twice as thick as the 2015 iPad Pro 12.9", it weighs about the same and is only a fraction of the cost. The sound from the built in speakers is more than adequate considering how close you'll be while viewing it anyway. I also like the holes in the back for having the option to mount it if needed. Lastly, and a nice little bonus, I contacted the company with a few questions and they were very responsive!Overall, I would highly recommend this product!

Das Display hat ganz klar Schwächen, aber in Relation zum Preis (~160 EUR), ziehe ich da keinen Stern ab. Dafür ist das Bild erstaunlich gut - besser als so manches Display, das ich schonmal gesehen habe.Ich muss relativ viel mobil arbeiten und benötige immer mgl. viel Bildschirmfläche, um vernünftig arbeiten zu können. Also habe ich mir ein Display zum mitnehmen gesucht. Ich wollte mir erst eins mit Deckel von ACER kaufen - das hätte aber 100 EUR mehr gekostet und der Kauf war eher nur "nice to have".Habe das jetzt zwei Tage im Einsatz gehabt und muss sagen: in Summe super.Als ich das das erste Mal neben mein Notebook gestellt hab, wollte ich das fast erst zurückgeben - weil die Farben im Auslieferungszustand eher so lala waren.Reduzierung der Helligkeit, mehr Kontrast, umstellen auf sRGB (non-Adobe), leichter Hue-Versatz und schon taugt das aber was. In dunklen bereichen scheint leicht die Hintergrundbeleuchtung durch, was ich einem Top-Panel nicht durchgehen lassen würde - im Einsatz mit Lichtquellen fällt das aber quasi nicht auf.Postiv:- klar der Preis- Bild ist ziemlich gut. Könnte ein klitzekleines Bischen heller sein - aber ist schon ziemlich gut. Hintergrundbeleuchtung ist stabil und pumpt nicht- eingebaute Lautsprecher und sogar Kopfhöreranschluss - brauche ich persönlich für meinen Anwendungsfall nicht, kann aber sinnvoll sein (angeschlossener Raspberry o.ä.)- VESA-MontagemöglichkeitNeutral:- mit den HDMI-Inputs kann ich persönlich mehr mit anfangen als mit einem USB-Display - man hat aber 2 Kabel statt einem: Strom und SignalNegative punkte:- ich habe einen toten Pixel. Das sehe ich quas nur wenn ich Kommandozeilen offen habe und direkt draufgucke... ich schicks deswegen nicht zurück- die Menübedienung ist "nicht eingängig" - das benutzt man hoffentlich nicht so oft.- Die Helligkeitseinstellungen werden nicht korrekt gespeichert. Speichern tut er sie schon - aber anwenden nicht. Ich schalte das Teil ein, verstelle die Helligkeit einen punkt rauf und wieder runter und dann stimmts wieder - bei der ersten Aktion springt er dann auf die Einstellung, die ich haben wollte.- der Ständer ist eher mäßig stabil... da wäre außerdem was am Rahmen besser (aber das wusste ich ja vorher)Ich glaube, ich werde mir noch einen Neopren-Sleeve bestellen, sonst sind die Kratzer vorherbestimmt.

Works and looks great - great for my raspberry pi project. Only 4 stars as unit did not come with power supply (only usb) and the usb power adaptors suppled where faulty but who doesn’t have one of these lying around the house so no big deal.

Der Monitor kam wie erwartet schnell nach Bestellung an. Verpackung zeigte sich als perfekt. Monitor war mit ausreichend Schaumstoff sicher gelagert, an der Qualität, ist nichts auszusetzen. Ich betreibe ihn mit Spannung aus dem Laptop USB3 Buchse, die Leistung reicht aus. Das Panel hat einen leichten Stich ins Türkis, lässt sich aber einigermaßen anpassen. Richtig hell wird er nicht, aber ist ja auch nur mit 250cd angegeben, die liefert er auch.Halter ist ausreichend. Einen stabilen Fuß möchte ich ja auch nicht mitschleppen.Dafür ist der Monitor stabil eingehaust und nimmt wenig Platz weg. Passt also in die Tasche.Alles in Allem stellt mich der Johnwill 15,6" durchaus zufrieden, ist das Gerät, was ich erwartet hatte,
