The Beeman

This is a great book to use with children. I used it in a classroom setting when working on a plant/pollination unit in science. Unfortunately it's a little difficult to find copies. I recently ordered this one for our County Bee Association so that members can take this book along and let children/teachers see what is available as a resource for honey bees. My original copy was a hard copy that I purchased through National Geographic many years ago.“The Beeman” was awarded their coveted 2014 Book of the Year award by the American Farm Bureau.

Such a fun book! I use this book as part of an out reach program about bees, it was the book geared for 3 to 5-year-olds. Not only was the book fun to read due to the hint of rhyming but it was also informative and educational. One part that went beyond my expectations was at the end of the book it has extra information that's not part of the story about bee colonies, bee anatomy and more

My husband is a bee keeper so we brought this book for our granddaughter. She loves to hear about the bees and her Poppie bee keeper.

Great book and very informational. Even had a fun recipe at the end.

Love this book to teach kids about bees. I am a hobby beekeeper and do presentations at schools and always use this during the presentation and leave one for the library.

Used the book as a read aloud for Grandparents Day. Each student read one page. Everyone loved it! Great book, wonderful illustrations. Love all of the bee facts at the end of the book as well!

My friend is a bee keeper. This is a great gift and so very accurate. My kids love this story. I have used this book the last two years in during my bee unit in the library!

Always easy to read about nature ---- and bees in particular ---- coming from an Apiarist, I'm obviously highly prejudiced !!!!

An excellent book from 'Barefoot books'. My son loves bees ever since watching 'Bee movie' so when I came across this book I just knew my son would love it. The illustrations in this book are lovely. The book starts with a poem by Aileen Fischer and ends with 'Grandma's Apple and Honey muffins' - just beautiful.

Wonderful book

This is the best childrens book ever for anyone who has anything to do with bees. We have a share in some bee hives and our 4 yr old just LOVEs this book. It is technically correct (which pleases my husband!), yet written in a lovely poetic way that all children will love!
