Q: What is the ringger? Is it a classic bell sound, or modernized?

it's the classic "blast from the past"...sounds like a bell. i like it . plus...i have DSL for my PC and the DSL does NOT interfere with this phone, whatsoever. the center of the dial can be used for call waiting, three personal controls under the base. this is a real bargain...need to "use both hands," tho'.

Q: Can you add a longer cord to this phone?

No, you cannot add a longer cord. The cord on this phone is "hard wired" into the unit. It does not have the normal phone cord with a removable plug.

Q: Does this phone require ac power supply in addition to the phone line?

Does not appear to need any additional power supply ( there is only one "jack" to connect to the "standard" phone line type connector)
