Great company to deal with! I actually ordered this starter by mistake because I didn’t see for diesel only. The company let me return it free of charge and let me order the correct one for my gasoline 4020. To further give this company accolades both staters arrived quickly and fit and worked remarkably fast and well.

Put this on my 4230 John Deere thinking that it would make it turn over faster being a gear reduction starter and it did not, but it was really easy to install and seems to work good. So don’t buy this if there is nothing wrong with your original starter.

Purchased starter in April of 2022 and was thrilled with the ease of installation . I use the tractor very little and in February of 2023 I noticed a difference in cranking but paid it no mind . I used the tractor a couple of times in the summer of 2023 and still the starter was not acting like it did when it was new . In April of 2023 I used the tractor for pulling another tractor out of a mud hole . It has been parked since April and this week (Oct 3 2023) I go to crank and nothing happens , zero . I know the warranty expired so I can't get any credit on warranty . I also can't get repairs because there is no information as to the manufacture . NOTHING TO GO BY TO GET REPAIRS !
