Just an absolutely brilliant book. I bought the kindle version but will probably buy a hard copy because it’s fab-I wish my actual FD had been as good. If you want to learn how to ‘be an artist’, develop your ideas, work out where your ideas come from and how to think and record visually this book is your journey-it will support any art study-higher or lower than an FD. I’d buy it for an A-level student considering an art degree to get these processes in place.I did an art foundation degree-this book is more in depth and helpful than my actual course which makes this book an absolute bargain! It is a course to follow-not a book of ‘projects’ but even the first project generated so many ideas and inspiration that you can see it works. Buy yourself this and a nice new sketchbook!

I have to say if you want to go into the Arts , read this book it gives you a good insight on what to expect on foundation course. But every foundation course is different, this only 1 of many. Book presented so well .

The book is wonderful, but quality of the binding is bad. The front cover is peeled. I can fix it myself, but not happy.

This book is full of insight and wonderful work by students and alumni of Central Saint Martins. its a treat to have a look inside how this course works.It is not an art activity book, but more of a look at the philosophy of the course.Really inspirational, I highly recommend it!
