First knife I ever almost didn't loose...
Got this to replace the exact same knife that I had bought at a clearance sale about a year ago. This was more expensive, but it's a really good knife without a bunch of gimmicks. The assisted open isn't as strong on the new one, which was a little weak on the old one, but it does work. Comes super sharp, but sharpening is difficult because of the profile of the blade with a slight inverse curve accross the "flat" portion that will wear a flat whetstone unevenly.

Knife is good. Came with a problem.
The knife seems well built and extremely sharp. When I got the knife the blade was getting stuck open, and I couldn't fold it up, without prying the release lever. It turned out that the hex bolt holding the blade at the front was loose, allowing the lever to release the blade to become stuck. Be careful and don't force the release with your fingers for obvious reasons. Take a small hex wrench if your knife locks open like mine, and make sure the main (big) hex bolt is tight.

For casual use, this is great. Have not used as an EDC.
I bought this because of a couple of some YouTube reviews I say and agree totally on their recommendation. I cannot attest to the strength and durability, but the sharpness and fit and finish tolerances I feel are way above this price point.

Good knife good price
Exactly what I was looking for. This is not the best knife I own but it is exactly as advertised and the price is really good. The assist on opening works great.

Holds an edge and the blade flips out quickly.
My only criticism of this knife is that the handle on one side cracked. I fixed it with superglue.

Decent knife, weak clip
The knife itself is just fine, the clip on the one I got though is terrible. It's fallen out of a number of pairs of pants/shorts. It's been relegated to a useful junk drawer tool as opposed to something I'll carry with me. Fortunately S&W has great customer service to fix this sort of stuff if needed, did not bother here though as I got this on sale real cheap during the holidays.

Not in the top two
As seen in the picture I'm a fan of S&W knives with NAMES on the blade, for example: Freelancer, Cleft, Sear, Sideburn, etc... This Velocite didn't disappoint too much.... It's MUCH lighter than a Cleft, but around the same size. It comes in last as far as my preferences for the pictured knives. The Sideburn is my EDC. This one is so light for the size; it worries me a little how it'll hold up over the long run (handle is very cheap plastic). If you want a heavy solid knife grab a Cleft, but sweet EDC is the Sideburn or Freelancer; they're just good knives... This one... S&W don't skimp on your handles! Seriously.
