VCP-DCV for vSphere 7.x (Exam 2V0-21.20) Official Cert Guide (VMware Press Certification) 4th Edition

I highly recommend this book if you are seriously studying for the VCP-DCV exams. Lots of questions and all the features and requirements are in the book. Comes with a software key that includes a lot of good practice exam questions. This is the same company that administers the exams, so the questions in the practice exams are very similar and even match the exam in some cases.

Needed to study this material for the test seem very informative enough for me to pass

I was taking a class on vSphere and got this book to read along with the class. The book was not required for the class. It did help understand the finer things of the program.

TLDR: Find another study resource. If you've had good experiences with Pearson books in the past, this one is not the same.What a mess. So many typos... I only started on the second chapter and I think I've seen more than 5.The way in which this book delivers information is also incredibly frustrating as well. For example in the second chapter, some very specific details are given regarding feature sets included in vSAN BEFORE EXPLAINING WHAT vSAN IS! Am I wrong to expect a book trying to deliver this information to me to explain the underlying framework in which these feature-sets reside before explaining said feature-sets? Imagine a recipe book telling you to add icing to your cake before showing you how to make the cake itself. That's essentially what this feels like. There is absolutely no structure to the chapters at all. I feel like the author wrote about each topic, shuffled the pages around for each subject, and voila - A book!kI expected so much more from Pearson as I've studied for other certs with their books in the past. This one however is a joke and I will only be using this as a supplement to other study materials.

Between this and the required class I was able to pass no problem.

This book is so boring but it is the only one published on vSphere 7 at this time. I would rather have a vSphere 7 book for administration and troubleshooting rather than this.

I didn't find this book very useful at all. The text is thrown at you almost like a bunch of notes without any context. Real world application, scenarios and experiences are missing, which makes the book overly theoretical. It makes the subject matter seem more complex than it actually is and it isn't reflective of the VCP exam itself which I found to be quite straight forward.Unfortunately a poor glossary and index means this book is not overly useful as a reference either.

It will put you asleep every time.

I bought it to help prep for the course and exam. It does cover just about everything you need to know but I found oh so tedious. It doesn’t make the subject matter interesting at all.

The tests are ok but information is bundled in a clunky way that glosses over material you need to delve into. The last 7 chapters are good for labbing though. But most this stuff is just copying stuff already available free
