I carry these for self-defense, instead of pepper spray. These sting your eyes more, and they are cheap and legal everywhere. I bought them after my dog was attacked by a loose dog while I was walking him. If I had had this, I could have fended the other dog off humanely, and saved my dog several stitches. I keep on in my purse, one in my car, one attached to my dog leash, etc.
