Lots of padding for high impact, sacrifices comfort
Bought these and the 888 set and ended up returning the 187 killer pads. The main reason was a lack of comfort in a neutral position and them feeling like "too much" pad for my skating style. I'm a middle-aged man getting pads so I can go and learn to drop-in on the 4' quarter pipe and learn to grind rails without fear of cutting myself up on every crash. I'm not going to be a transition skater going for big air and crashing down on my knees into the halfpipe. If I was going to be a halfpipe skater, these are the pads I would have kept. They have a ton of padding, but lose some flexibility. They are formed in a bent knee shape, perfect when riding transition, but are note very comfortable when standing up straight or cruising. The slip on style means they are very secure, but not easy to take on/off.Ultimately, they seem like a great first set of pads for a transition or high-impact skater. If you're a low impact street skater like me, you might be happier with a lighter (triple) wEIGHT option.

WoW!!!!!!!!
Hard to believe you can get this much protection for so little money. You're essentially paying full price on the Knee Pads and Wrist Guard and getting the Elbow Pads for free. Awesome Value!!! For those looking for additional knee padding, I'd suggest looking at their Knee Gasket which can be worn under the Knee Pads.

Good pads
So far these pads have been a great value. I use them for ice and roller skating and they’ve provided good protection even when I wipe out! Knee pads run large. I typically wear size 12-14 pants and the large pads felt a little too big. Not enough to be a huge problem but they do run large. The pads handled the washing machine well when I put them in a garment bag. They also look fine after being put in the dryer by accident!

They do the job
I like the way these look and feel. I play derby in them. The only issue I have is the knee pads have an adjustable strap with a plastic piece on the bottom instead of just Velcro like on the top strap of the knee pad and I have giant calves so I have to unbuckle that strap and it's really difficult to unlatch and latch again. If both straps were Velcro I would give it 5 stars.

Sizing help - between sizes XS and SM
This is really just a review on sizing- if you’re between sizes hopefully this helps. I’m 5’6, 120lb and usually a 0 or 2 in clothing. Size guide based on measurements has me right on the cusp between an XS and a S/M for all three pads.In the pic the red/blue/white is a size XS and the blue and black (Electric Bolt) is size S/M.Short version is that neither set works for me. I can purchase separately but unfortunately neither knee pad worked. The padding is excellent and they appear to be well made- unfortunately just not right for this body. From everything I've read/watched on sizing these pads it's recommended that they feel pretty snug. Once you warm up they'll become more malleable and conform to your body. Also, with time they'll stretch out a bit. So, keeping those suggestions in mind, that's how I determined the correct fit for me.Wrist guards- The S/M fit and are definitely my size. The XS were way too small. I think I'm a size 7 in gloves which is a womans small or medium. My ring finger is a a size 5.5.Elbow pads- The XS fit great, very secure. The S/M were much too loose. I secured them as tightly as possible but that made the velcro straps stick out and snag my clothing.Knee pads- First, the difference in size between the XS and the S/M knee pads is... significant. And, unfortunately, neither knee pad worked for me. The S/M had the coverage I wanted but it was too roomy. Even cinched down below my knee as tightly as possible I had a long strap hanging down to my ankle and I still felt like my knee was swimming in them. The XS fit nice and snug but didn't offer enough coverage- if they had been longer they would have been great. (I watched the 187 video on sizing knee pads and they recommend the knee pad sit one hand width above and one hand width below your knee cap. The S/M is the right length (just not the right width). The XS is too short- closer to 2 or 2.5 fingers above and below my knee cap. I feel like they're made for a shorter person. I'm 5'6", I think you'd need to be shorter than that for the XS knee pads to fit properly.Another thing about the knee pads is that the size and shape of the plastic is different. I expected the size to be different but not the shape. The plastic on the XS knee pad measures 5x5 and is completely rounded with no flat areas- it looks kind of like an elbow pad. The plastic on the S/M measures 6x6, (I wouldn’t think an inch difference would make that much difference but it really does). Also, the plastic is flat on the front and the edges are curved. A feature I see more higher end and pro pads.Fit aside I did a dead fall onto my knees wearing both pads onto a wood floor. Both were very protective. Surprisingly, the shape difference didn’t affect how I landed. I thought my knee would roll in the XS but it didn't.Protection wise these are a big thumbs up. I'm super bummed they don't fit.

Gold Standard
I got this to protect my parts while skateboarding. It works great. Way better than the knockoff brands. I do wish I'd sized up though, so if you're going based on measurements, I'd recommend measuring over your clothes. I didn't do that and it fits a little too snug. But the one time I didn't wear it, I got a gnarly hole in my knee. Stay safe out there, friends.

Great support pads
My daughter has just started out in skateboarding (she is 12 year old) and her skateboarding teacher suggested these. They are great quality pads and work well for her. I would recommend these for skateboarders.

All-Ages Skaters Stay Safe
Um - In a sea of skate pads, these stood out for their unique colours (ie: not black). As an older skater, I needed some tough pads to keep my knees, elbows and wrists safe in the skate park. This is a comfortable kit from 187 Killer Pads that does the trick. Although I may get out the scissors and sewing machine to customize over time after I use them regularly - they are a great starting point for any one wanting to keep themselves intact while taking some calculated skate risks.
