Does what it advertised.
So far, this unit has worked as advertised. It pumps about 50 pints of water over a 24 hour period. The only issue that we’ve had with it, and the reason for the four stars, is that the compressor froze solid twice (with the fan on low), and the auto defrost didn’t work. I had to turn off the unit for 24 hours each time to clear the frost. Otherwise, it’s very simple and easy to operate.Be aware that if you are using the pump to external, it won’t pump externally until the internal hopper is full.

Pump set up not so easy
The unit came undamaged and was packed nicely for shipment. I had some trouble with the pump set up. I set up the unit with the hose off the back to pump the collected water through the hose and out of the garage. The unit wouldn't switch to pump even after the pump light was on. The tank filled with water and I emptied it. I turned off the unit then started up again, this time the pump did work! For about 12 hours, then the unit shut down with an E error code. I tightened up the gasket/hose outlet (emptied the tank again) and am trying it again. Seems to be working fine for now.

Great product, poor packaging
The dehumidifier is well built and easy to use. I haven't had much time with it, but the various features seem to work fine. My one nit is the packaging. The item arrived loose in a large box. The only packing material was a plastic bag and a small piece of styrofoam. It' had taken a beating in transit. The pump was shaken loose, and I had to reinstall it. It's a shame that such a nice product was so poorly packed.

Seller has been amazing. PRODUCT! This machine is aweful
The seller of this was fantastic. They were very helpful and responsive. Unfortunately this dehumidifier (2) has been awful. First one was super noisy and I couldn't get it to pump. Dont they claim this is super quiet??? The pump is a little loud and the fan rattles. I tried to move it in all sorts of positions and it still rattled. Replaced. New one wouldn't pump either. Both would drain but neither would pump. Returning.Why do companies make stuff with so much packaging that cant be recycled but wont print a manual that is helpful. Gawd knows that the online instructions aren't any good or are non existence.BUY FROM THIS SELLER.DON"T BY an EMERSON DEHUMIDIFIER

Purchased as replacement for one that failed while still under warranty
Good performance in terms of energy efficiency, noise level and suitability for a small space. However, this dehumidifier was a replacement for the same model which failed while still under warranty, hence the nuanced rating,

Stopped working after only 2 years.
The media could not be loaded. Here you can see the humidity at 65% and the target humidity set to 50%. You can see the unit run for fifteen minutes without actually dehumidifying the space. I requested assistance via customer support on July 28th. They said it would take 6 weeks for a refund of 70% of the purchase price. Here we are in September 24th and I still haven't heard back from them, and I've received no check in the mail. This kind of junk quality is very bad for the environment. Removing the defective unit requires special pickup and handling by local waste management.

The WiFi app doesnt work in the US, missing parts with poor service
i purchased the unit with the Wifi enabled controls. the app isn't available in the US. i have a missing piece for the pump and having a very hard time getting them to ship me what is needed.the unit seems to be working well and is quiet.

Terrible manufacturer
The first dehumidifier that came had a necessary part missing. The connection to attach the hose to the pump (why buy a pump model if it cannot connect to a hose?) was not in the box.The minimally useful User Manual said at the set point, the compressor would turn off and after couple of minutes, the fan would shut off. The Fan Never Shuts Off. How bad will my electric bill be?The phone number for Emerson is never answered, but after many minutes on hold, offers an option to leave a number to be called back. They Never Call Back. Even Amazon cannot get in touch with them.Amazon replaced the unit with one that came with the needed part, but, it leaked all over my carpet, so I emptied it and used the part on the original unit. It pumps the water out, but, as mentioned above, NEVER shuts off.For now, it works; but I cannot imagine keeping it if the manufacturer does not call me with appropriate instructions to get it to work properly...
