AudioActiv VAULT XL Waterproof, Shockproof Hard Cover Travel Case for Jawbone BIG JAMBOX Bluetooth Speaker (Black)

This is a great case. I use it on a pontoon boat. It transfers music with little to no degradation.We tested 3 setups, on the boat. One was a control, no covering, second was a zip top bag with a little air to keep the plastic off the speaker but not to fill up the bag, and the third was the case. I have several different friends with different types of music, so this is what we have concluded;While listening to 80s rock, there is no discernible sound loss.While listening to techno and dub-step, there is some loss in base.While listening to classic(Bach specifically), I didn’t hear any real difference, however my friend that owns the music said she heard a noticeable muffled sound.Rap, there is a little bit of a muffled sound.I only really noticed the degradation by opening and closing the case while the speaker is playing. My friend said she noticed the sound loss, but she was probably just trying to sound cool.The case was way better than the plastic bag in everyone’s opinion and just slightly degraded from the speaker by its self.I did hear about the case being easily scratched. So I decided to modify the case almost immediately after getting it.I put labels with my contact info on it (incase it was lost) and a couple other decals then I covered the stickers and sides with clear poly-urethane (after taping off the grid to make sure nothing would get in the way of the sound of course) which basically fused the stickers to the case. It worked really well and looks neat. Also doesn’t really scratch and the scratches aren’t noticeable. So I can’t comment on the case being scratch prone.

Crazy solid and good water proof protection, carries sound great. But come on, there is o room in case to store the charger. Cutouts in case don't line up well with buttons. It would have been so simple to make the cutouts in the foam to fit right. WHAT HAPPENED???

My wife bought me this case for my Big Jambox. This case is made very well and I am sure would hold up to the worst that could be thrown it's way. . . . including a dip in the pool. It has all the necessary storage for cords and Ipod and the sound is surprising. I was expecting it to be a muffled mess, but the highs and lows seem to come through just fine. My only negative comment would be that when it is setting in the upright position (a position that allows the best sound), it is VERY unstable. I take this case out on the boat with me and often have to lay it flat to prevent it from tipping. . . . even in calm water. I wish they could make the base wider to make it more stable and allow all of the sound to be unobstructed.Slightly dissappointed. . .

The case arrived a week early and appears to be great quality. Being the skeptic I am, I quickly put my Jambox in the case and stepped outside. I simulated rain with a hose for about five minutes (including some direct spray) and the Jambox kept on playing. When I opened the case, the Jambox was as dry as a (Jaw)bone. I have yet to test this case's shockproof claim, but with the large amount of foam padding inside, I can't imagine my speaker ever getting damaged unless I choose to drive over this case with my car. I was also worried about the effect this case would have on the sound quality of the speaker, but I shouldn't have been. There is very little change in sound quality once the speaker is inside the case. If you're using this at a pool or lake where people are socializing with background music, the change in sound quality is indistinguishable. This is one of the priciest cases I have ever purchased for a consumer audio product, but I am incredibly pleased with the quality, fit, and finish of this product. Before I bought this, I had never heard of AudioActiv, but they knocked it out of the park with this one. Keep up the great work guys!

Bought and used it with no problems for a full year, in and out of water, Just last week, in the river, water managed to get in and destroy my Big Jambox. Very upset with AudioActiv as it worked flawlessly up until then.

it makes a vibration sound with bass sounds, but for protection is great!, I have to open the case to have a better sound and stop hearing that anoying vibration sound on bass.

I purchased this waterproof case for my big jambox a few weeks ago. It has exceeded my expectations. The case is very heavy duty and protects both the speaker and extra compnents perfectly. In addition, when you play the speaker in the case, I feel that it actually enhances the sound. If you are concerned about the cost, don't be. The design of the case and foam inserts is obviously high end material and it is well worth the money. I can now carry my speaker around in this convenient case and never worry about it getting wet or damaged. Everyone who sees me with this case asks me where to get one as they love it as well. I cannot say enough about this. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

Awesome case. Never tested the "waterproof" part but other than that performs well. Very very very small amount of volume drop while in case .well worth the protection it provides for a 300 dollar speaker. Does scratch easy but better than scratching your jam box. I am rough on it to and it holds up. Plus lots of compliments on it when I have it at work.
