Space Ranger Part 1 & 2 Double Feature

Most "fan" based videos/movies are exactly that, fan made. Most cases, they use a cheap camera, sewn together outfits, and poor acting and action scenes.In this case, it's about the same. Space Rangers is actually a pretty good story line with some okay action scenes. The outfits and costumes were not too badly designed. (The heroes outfits looked better than the villains IMHO) The acting and action scenes wasn't too bad. Script and story telling was actually pretty good for a "fan" made movie. I could even see how this could be made into a series.Because I have purchased "fan" made movies in the past, I was a little worried that it was going to be just as bad as the previous videos I have gotten. Surprisingly, it was actually entertaining and fun to watch. What is more impressive is that they didn't use "sexual perks" to push the movie. It's actually very clean made. What's really going to throw you for a loop is that the 3rd "red" ranger is a guy, not a girl. I say this because I would think that if you plan to model the heroes on the cover art, why not include all the heroes, or at least the "main" heroes.As far as the storyline was concerned, they actually used some good plot twists to help draw the viewers into the story so you were more involved in paying attention to what is going on. I was really impressed with how they managed to capture the audiences using the plot twists. (Only thing is you have to deal with the drawn out story, so you have to get past the first 10-15 minutes of drama)Overall, I was actually entertained by this movie. The DVD includes 2 episodes, both about 40 minutes long. The video quality is not too bad. They either used a very cheap camera or they used a bad compression to make the film as I noticed a lot of grainy colors. As far as the story is concerned, I will not explain the plot. Even if the movie was bad, I dare not tell you how the movie goes, for that would be the major spoiler for you. As mentioned, this is a very clean movie. None of the girls get risque nor expose any skin. Most fan made movies I seen tend to push the risque a bit, but they did not do it here. Only reason I very much don't recommend this to kids is because of the language and some pretty rough violent moments. No blood is spilled, but the fighting and torture scenes get a bit rough.

Not speaking japanese makes the lack of dubbing and subtitles problematic.If you have an active imagination, you might be able to make up plot on your own to go with the video.WARNING SPOILER...The movie starts with what looks like an argument between costumed superheros. One grabs the sword from another and hurls it through space towards what looks like the Earth.Earth girl finds sword just in time to have it taken from he by unexpected bad guy in costume with Godzilla-like face mask. Fight ensues and girl somehow survives. Then she transforms into superhero (Blue). Conversation ensues. Oder brother type arrives with yet another girl. Bad guy disappears with sword, cameraman shakes camera.Original chief superhero still grouchy. Long conversation between uncostumed superheros.Friction continues between characters. One woman departs, conversation continues between man and women.Man goes outside and shouts for departed women. Bad guy shows up again and challenges women, she transforms and poorly choreographed fight scene continues.Bad guy waves arm and shock wave knocks over opponent.Later uncostumed good guy finds girl's weapon.Scene changes and underling reports to original red-caped character who looks like he is still sore about his sword being taken from him and flung into space.Blue guy speaks somberly and bad guy has costumed girl (white) tied to crate. Discussion continues. Bad guy taunts girl, gets into her face. Probably has bad breath, girl laughs at bad guy and gets slapped, punched and kicked, but still defiant,Outside other girls still looking around, fellow arrives to no good news.Meanwhile bad guy still punching restrained women (white).Bad guy forces woman to drink from oilcan, coughing ensues. Further lubrication doesn't improve health of white warrior. Woman makes corny suffering sounds, and further lubrication proceeds. Woman not looking good.Meanwhile un-costumed man and woman discuss situation and argue. Woman wants to go and man doesn't.Lubrication proceeds and things look bad for white warrior.Meanwhile un-costumed girls jogs around with futuristic looking weapon and talks to herself. Teardrop falls on weapon and trail appears magically.White warrior still defiant, ,spits in face of bad guy. He flourishes sword.Red and Blue warriors (man and woman) arrive and fight with bad guy.Enthusiastic fight continues between bad guy and Red warrior.Red and blue warriors discuss situation with bad guy. Red and blue warriors rest on floor while unshackled white warrior takes on bad guy. He is just a little faster and a little stronger.Red white and blue warrions fight on uselessly.Finally white warrior throws knife into chest of bad guy and he dissolves.New baby blue warrior and original chief show up with another girl captive and further pointless discussion proceeds.Movie part 1 ends, no resolution. One hour wasted waiting for any hint of plot.It's a good thing I have Prime and didn't have to pay for this.Hard to believe these actors (wannabes) ever worked again .

To be honest, we ( neither myself nor the boys) liked this production. They were expecting Power Rangers. This felt too much like a home movie w/ out a budget. Cover art looks good; and it was a good effort. Scrolled through movie looking for any good quality effects, but didn't see any. We turned it off.

I love these type of shows, kinda like a super sentai (power rangers) show.

I liked that the movie kept with the more popular power ranger theme. It was similar to a homemade movie. But actually was quite entertaining.

The show tries to be serious like 70s/80s super sentai, or kamen rider, but without a shred of humility, or action as displayed in the original works it's trying very hard to imitate. That said, it's not a terribly bad show for what it is. The acting can be a bit over the top in a few scenes, and the costumes could have been made with better materials, but somehow those flaws add a little bit to this that gives it the charm of what Saban' s first power rangers was for all of us that were fortunate enough to have caught the original run growing up.Warning: As was mentioned by other reviewers, there are no subtitles. You will need to have at least elementary, or working knowledge of Japanese to be able to understand, and follow the plot.

Absolute amateur garbage that'll leave you howling with laughter when you aren't cringing so hard your anus ceases to exist.The best part was where the "Space Alien" forces the captured "Ranger" to drink what can only be a copious amount of urine, while she struggles to act convincingly/have a seizure.
