A surprise hit!!!
I have seen Han hyo-joon on regular drama like the much love Brilliant legacy to Film like Cold eye where she won the best actress category. I've also seen her appear on korean variety show like running man and there's nothing to not like about her, she's so easy going and act very ordinary as compared to some high profile actresses but in the dramas/films I've seen her act -like the ones mention above, although a huge hit even to me, sad yo say, her acting ranges from being blant to being forgettable that it's so frustrating to watch her. It's actually surprisingly good to see her improve her craft tremendously in this film. I watched this film solely for Go Soo- the lead guy who left a huge impression after seeing him in one korean drama called, will it snow for christmas back in 2009-10. As always he never fail to deliver the goods and back it up with his visual looks, so whats not to love about the guy. What made me thoroughly enjoyed this film is seeing the male lead act well complemented by the female counterpart. Han hyo-jo acting her was really good, she was so different from the last time I've have seen her that I'll be looking forward to see her again in her future project. All in all I've enjoyed the film, the story was well delivered, acted and executed beautifully. Well worth my time, a feel good romcom that leaves you laughing and wanting for more.

Great chemistry and good performances elevate this sweet romantic comedy to a higher plane.
I like this cute little RomCom a lot. I have watched it at least five times and I am sure I will watch it again .Everything depends upon how much you like the main characters because there are no surprises in this romance that frequently borders on the trite. In fact, a lengthy 'trapped in a collapsing building' sequence is lifted practically word for word from a House episode. But the stars step up to the challenge. Ko Soo (who also stars in a first class Korean melodrama: When A Man Loves A Woman) plays Kang-il, a rescue firefighter whose pregnant wife died three years previously while he was working at the scene of a traffic accident. Struggling with grief and crippled by guilt Kang-il has become a taciturn loaner who throws himself into one dangerous situation after another without regard for his own safety. Han Hyo Joo, one of the most beautiful women in Korea (co-star of my absolute favorite Korean movie: Always, and lead actress in Shining Inheritance, one of the best rated dramas in Korean history) stars as Mi-Soo, an engaging but overconfident doctor at a general hospital, who makes a hasty misdiagnosis and gets sued by the patient's husband when the patient slips into a coma. In danger of losing her medical license, Mi-Soo tries to convince Kang-il to discredit the lawsuit by filing a counter claim against the patient's husband for an assault he committed on Kang-Il while Kang-Il was attempting to console him. Kang-Il refuses saying that he has more sympathy for the grieving husband than he has for Mi-Soo so she sets out to win Kang-il over by seducing him. When early attempts fail she takes on the position of an EMT in Kang-Il's squad so she can get closer to him. From this what can possibly follow but true love? There is the usual supporting cast: the gruff but kindly chief, the loudmouthed station house playboy, and his romance with the plucky but tongue tied tomboy, etc.All of this works because Han Hyo Joo is so pretty and sweet and funny as she relentlessly attempts to tickle Ko Soo out of his bad mood, and because the plot has such a reasonable step-by-step structure. Kang-Il first begins to see Mi-Soo in a sympathetic light when she collapses suddenly before him (due to a brain disorder) and he has to carry her home. In turn, her growing respect for Kang-Il' due to his bravery and resolve causes Mi-Soo to see herself through his eyes and reevaluate her sense of what is right and wrong with her behavior..

The Koreans are the keepers of the Flame
Who doesn't need help with love? This is a throwback romantic screwball comedy without profanity and inane characters with 3-day growth, in other words adults with responsibilities instead of insecurities when it comes to their jobs. (Hollywood believes all actors work for the CIA or police with no time for hygiene) This romantic sleeper hides some savvy writing and editing style. Love does come to several characters in this contemporary take on the modern chase when a surgeon loses her job and seeks voluntary work with a paramedic team with plenty of bachelors. That is just for starters. As a paramedic, the amorous-bent ingenue-surgeon-now paramedic takes a while to fit in to the boy's club, an adventure on its own. However, a paramedic's day is hazardous, challenging and frustrating without romantic ambitions. This charming old-style chase has plenty of hazards, obstructions and sentiment to drive this to a surprising finish. Lives get saved, containing a suspense movie's heroics alone. All the principal actors are charmingly human with a believable camaraderie. I cannot give away the twist that is most compelling. Cary Grant and Carole Lombard would both approve this sentimental charmer.

They meet on the job and he helps her become a better person and she helps him get over his wife
This is the story of a "peppy"(arrogant but caring and honest) doctor who loses a patient and becomes a paramedic to save her job and a dedicated fire fighter (and single father to a cute kid) who is still recovering from the death of his wife a year ago. They meet on the job and he helps her become a better person and she helps him get over his wife, as they fall in love, with their work mates helping out. This was a surprise to me as I thought it was the type of film where the heroine was just there to be arm candy. Instead I got a nice simple romance with a good dose of drama. The action was believable and the characters were well rounded. The director(Jeong Ki-Hun whose name is the only one on the back of the box) did a good job, producing a very nice piece. If you get this, I hope you like it as much as I did.
