The third installment of The Illumine Series.Captured, imprisoned, and left to burn. You know what they say- where there's smoke there's fire...For the last two weeks, Essallie Hanley has been a prisoner, in more ways than one. Held hostage by the Queen, she is forced to endure the mind-numbing pain tearing her body- and soul -apart, killing her with every tick of the clock. It seems all hope is lost, until one chance moment gives Essallie a name, Rinae Decante, the final person needed for the Queen to unveil her master plan to end Essallie. Armed with this name, and with the help of Ari and Kayden, Essallie breaks free from her captivity and launches in a search for this mystery girl. But their search doesn't go as smoothly as planned, and the three soon find themselves fighting against an impenetrable course of fate aimed to destroy them all from the inside out. When Essallie falls victim to her altering soul, they all begin to wonder of there's any chance at all to save themselves from the burning effects of their actions.Love, lies, and betrayal. No one is safe from the undoing of secrets surrounding EssallieMY REVIEW:I have been waiting for this book forever, or it just feels like it was forever. Either way I loved it, this is the first series that's paranormal I have loved since Vampire Academy. I was left speechless after I finished it. I read Riven much like the other two, within hours I was done, and left yerning for the next installment. I didn't know what to do with myself, the author hits you with a bomb at the end leaving you feeling empty. It was something I waited so long for, it confused me and I wanted to crawl into a ball and cry myself to sleep. I'd say I was playing, but in truth this novel had me on edge the whole time I was reading it. It had so much action, it was like watching a very well made movie. It made all my fantasies of Kayden and made me want him even more..swoon!This book left me wanted more and I can't wait till book four comes out. Its hard for me to write a review for this. I loved everything about this novel, from the moment you open the book to the moment you close it, it had you engaged really thinking you are fighting to stay alive.Alivia Anders words flowed beautifully, every word had my mind racing to figure out what was going to happpen next. And she put the right amount of humor in it to make you laugh. It was the passion I was waiting for, it was teasing me like a tickle in the back of my throat. I wanted more, and this installment gave me a glimmer of home. Alivia Anders was teasing me with a lollipop and in the end she let me have a little taste. Then she took it from me and made me cry like a sobbing child.I have no idea why I have fallen for a demon who munches on flesh, but I do. I didn't think it was possible for anyone to replace the love I have for Will in Infernal Devices, yet Kayden has stolen my heart. The world the author has created is brilliant, and if you love paranormal like me then this is a must read. There are vampires, angels, demons, fairies, mermaids, and anything else you can think of.LOVED this novel like the others. It has mind-blowing action, love and all the right elements. It moves fast and left no stone untured. It has a very hateful and monsterous villian, someone who readers will no doubt dislike with a passion. There is even a twisted love triangle that is to die for. Question is who will you choose?I give this book five stars!QUOTES:In that moment, all I wanted was to not feel alone. All I wanted was him. My lips crashed against his, feeling his petal soft lips melt against mine as I dug my hands into his hair. He pressed his hands against the small of my back , crushing his chest against mine. My hands moved from his hair, sliding over his cheeks and running along the back of his neck. Kayden Trailed his lips along my neck, butterfly kisses wondering ast my collarbone to the top of my chest. I flung a hand out along the bookcase, clinging to the wood as my legs buckled beneath me.If this was the way to die, I would be glad to end it all right here and there.

Loved it, such a great series. Can't wait for book 4!!
Ok, well, I am Shocked to the core at this ending! I was under the impression this was a trilogy, not sure where I got that idea, but I will say I was shocked when the cliffhanger hit and there was no more pages! It was a total surprise to me. I loved this book so much. It was such an edge of your seat read. Here is a swoon worthy scene I wanted to share (except I sure wish it was Ali instead of Kayden in it, as I still can’t get past his true demon form, lol Yuck)In that moment, all I wanted was to not feel alone. All I wanted was him. My lips crashed against his, feeling his petal soft lips melt against mine as I dug my hands into his hair. He pressed his hands against the small of my back, crushing his chest against mine. My hands moved from his hair, sliding over his cheeks and running along the back of his neck. Kayden trailed his lips along my neck, butterfly kisses wandering past my collarbone to the top of my chest. I flung a hand out along the bookcase, clinging to the wood as my legs buckled beneath me.As you can see, its swoon worthy for sure.I did start to warm up toward Kayden, as he does truly care for Essallie, but I do think she should be with Ali, as he is a Nephilim like her, but we wont know how it all turns out until the 4th book is out. I did see there is a novella, between this and the last book, #4. But its told about another 3rd Nephilim that we only first see in this book. Still should be interesting, and be a good source of info on her, as she will more than likely be a big part of the final book. (at least I think it’s the final book, but not sure, as I seen a 4.5 novella listed for the future, so who knows)I won’t say a lot about this, as its packed full of so much, and there is so many twists and turns and stuff you won’t see coming. Its always best to not know much going in, so to get the full enjoyment from this book.I will stop with this cute, but funny teaser , Rinae, is the 3rd Nephilim, just fyi.“Rinae, don’t say anything,” the olive-skinned boy, Tegen, hissed under his breath. “It’s a trick.” I didn’t fight the eyeroll. “Oh yes, because two Nephilim coming to join with you is a dirty, dirty trick. Why don’t you shut it, unless your life aspiration was to resemble a badly burned barbecue. Then by all means, let those lips flap away.” Kayden stared at me, slack-jawed. “So not fair, you’re only supposed to insult me like that.”Its written very well, brilliant. I am a true fan, and am eagerly waiting book 4! Can’t wait to see how this all ends.5 out of 5 big stars. You can come by my post that was for the book tour, to read up on the other books as well as more on this one if you want link is in my profile.

A FANTASTIC BOOK AND A MUST READ!
This is the third installment of the Illumine Series. I have been eagerly awaiting it's release! Needless to say, I absolutely LOVED it!Essallie Hanley is a fantastic character. She is part Nephilim (half human, half angel), who has been hunted by the Queen for her blood. Having been captured, she is faced with the deadly consequences of the Queen's plan. Will she be strong enough to survive?Ari is also a fantastic character. He is also a Nephilim. He has his own secrets, but I think he is definitely one of the good guys. He has a big heart, and possibly a crush on Essallie, but she has eyes for only one man.Kayden *SIGH* is a demon, summoned by Essallie's ex to kill her. However, he has his reasons for not doing so. Every time he touches Essallie, he burns, literally. When those two get together, sparks fly! This book takes up roughly where the previous book ended. I absolutely couldn't put it down! I loved the interaction between all the characters. I don't know why I have fallen for Kayden, since he's a flesh eating demon, but there is something about him that just makes me love him! He's just so sexy! Ari's not bad either, but Kayden is something else! Why is it all the best ones are book characters? This is a fast paced story that has a few twists that kept me on the edge of my seat! There is a lot of action and a major twist right at the end that completely surprised me! I hate it when authors leave you on the edge with cliffhangers, because they completely frustrate me! But I can tell you that it's BIG and left me completely stunned! I am now DYING to find out what surprises the author will come up with in the next book!Alivia Anders has written another no-holds-barred book that has captured my attention. I love her writing style. It is fast paced, but extremely fluid. As she is already on my favourite authors list, I cannot add her again, but I will certainly read any other books she writes in the future. I highly recommend this book (and series) if you love your YA Paranormal Romance full of angels, demons, mermaids (sorry, Sirens!) and other paranormal beings. - Lynn Worton
