Great optic for $100.
Hard to complain about a $100 optic that does exactly what it should and fits the purpose I intended perfectly (Roni MCK/19x set up). As noted, this is a green dot sight. The MSR is very well made and appears to be very durable. Others have complained about the flip up lens covers and while they are a bit difficult to close it seems to be a nuance in technique rather than a design flaw. They close fine if you apply downward/forward pressure on the lower portion of the cover. The green dot is crisp and brightness settings are ample for a variety of conditions. More than 4 at low light seems to produce a bit of an emitter glare but that’s no big deal. 6-8 in daytime seems best for my eyes (slight astigmatism). Control knob is slightly stiff but loosened up after a few setting changes. Not an issue. Sight mounted fine on the MCK rail and is an absolute co-witness with the Magpul MBUS. Glass is clear and crisp - even through the lens covers being down. Again, no issue there. Zero easily achieved and held after a session of over 100 rds. I have other SIG optics and the MSR holds true to the design, ease of use and visual appeal of the others I own. No complaints for a $100 optic on a range/home defense toy. Would highly recommend.

Good quality optic
Yes the MSR does not have all the features of the Romeo5 red dot like the extra low mount, motion activation, longer battery life, and the use of a more common battery. However where the MSR red dot shines is in its simplicity. It is very easy to install with the tool provided and has very clear glass for a red dot. MSR has two more bringhtness settings than the Romeo5 and because of the brightness adjustment knob you know what setting you are on at all times. The MSR has attached see through lens covers that stay attached to the red dot which is a plus in my opinion. The CR1632 battery used in the MSR is not as common as the CR2032 in the Romeo5, but is not impossible to find and not very expensive. I also found that the red dot did turn off infrequently when firing, but after a closer inspection this was caused by the batter cap not being tightened down properly (which was user error). After everthing was tightened the MSR has functioned flawlessly and is still going strong. Overall the MSR is a good simple red dot for the money and is defently worth a look.

Don't skimp... (UPDATE)
First off, the product it's self seems great. Easy to install, comes with a little tool for sight maintenance, and seems rather sturdy. I had it tight on the Saint pistol in about 2 minutes from open to install. The brightness knob is dang hard to turn, very stiff. And the see thru caps are really hard to open and close. .... only bad Mark's here goes for this seller, Plume I believe. I first had a red dot in the cart ready to go, then in checkout says its 30 dollars more and will take over a week for delivery (as opposed to next day like originally said.). So went back, and my items gone. Searched for just this sight, found it, same seller, red dot, for 15 over the original offered price but next day. Ok fine, still beats going to the store.... when it came, on time- it was first delivered to the wrong house, and the little picture they send you- was of the wrong house!! Luckily my neighbor is cool and I got it back. Then when I open it up- it's a green laser dot! Green is ok, but after awhile it bothers my eyes- why I ordered the red dot.... I'm going to keep it, and sort of good I got it at all after this. So the sight its self is soild, good buy dont regret it at all. But the seller... negative 5 stars for sending the wrong item and Amazon driver-fail- dropped off at wrong house. Don't skimp on a quality sight, worth the $$!!!! UPDATE: Been difficult to get to the range recently, with ammo prices/availability what it is now. But I have been able to zero it in, and put it through some testing/proving. This thing is solid. Kept zero after some blatant "targeted" abuse( see what I did there lol). Did not become loose at all. Still would have preferred the red to the green, but hey, I'm still happy with the buy. I would still recommend this product to anyone, and still say it's worth the price. Now if ammo costs would drop and the stuff would become available, I'd be a happier camper!!

Functional, reliable, easy to use.
Installed on my Scorpion EVO 3 S1 with an F5Mfgr ACR+Tailhook style brace. Dialed it at 36yrds in only a few shots. The brightness dial *IS* stiff for a little bit, and not super-duper bright. The top 2 are good for sunny outside shooting, the lower levels just fine for various indoor lighting. Haven't tried the NVG settings, I'm not tacticool enough to have those. No loss of zero after some 250+rnds downrange. Not a huge number, but if it were going to slip out, one figures it would have. I have some moderate astigmatism, but the dot was crisp enough with the caps up. A little more fuzzy with them down, but still plenty usable out to 50yrds. I have the FDE version from another retailer that I have on myFDE X95, and it's just as stable on that platform as well. I haven't used on any platforms aside from 9mm PCC's and 5.56, so I can't speak to reliability on 7.62x39, 7.62NATO or 12ga platforms. But for PCC's and 223/556 platforms, this is a simple, reliable and highly functional RDS.

I depend on this
I bought one because a friend recommended it. I got it to zero quite easily. After several trips to the woods it remained consistent. I liked it enough that I have now purchased several for various firearms. The knob is a bit tight to operate but I don't mind that at all. For the money this is a great optic. I use the green dot, (just personal preference) but it also comes in red dot. There's better out there for sure, but for a fairly inexpensive optic that you buy for depending on when you need it, it's a great option. It's also a full co witness optic which means that if you have a fixed front sight on your AR, you can look through it and use your sights without it being in the way.

The best bang for the budget tier
The good: Clear and usable red dot, adjustable for most indoor/outdoor brightness, day and night. A keeper despite how valued priced it is. You can bang this optic around a bit and not have to scrap it. Holds zero, at least I tested up to .308 semi-auto. The bad: The brightness knob is difficult to actuate, no gyro-activation (shake awake)

Great Optic for beginner and intermediate shooters
Great optic for intermediate and anyone getting into rifle and even paint ball ownership. Very simple design. Multiple choices of illumination, can be easily mounted on any picatinny rail. Even comes with pass through lens covers. Can't lose for picking this up.

Great Product
Mounted this on a PC carbine. Super nice green dot sight! Love the built in caps. I accidentally left it on in my safe for weeks and that didn't even kill the battery.
