I've been on the hunt for the perfect pillow for quite a while, and the shredded memory foam pillow from Viewstar has been an absolute game-changer! The major decision the potential buyer needs to make is whether or not a shredded memory foam pillow is for them. If the answer is yes, then I can heartily endorse this product. When you compare this offering (in my case, two king size pillows for fifty bucks and change, pre-tax) to other major manufacturers, this is one of the most generous offerings available.Though at this early date I can't yet comment on durability, the outer, removable pillowcase appears very nicely made, including the nylon zipper, which operates smoothly thus far. The shredded memory foam is fresh and clean, without any visible contaminants. One of course will need to allow the foam to " air out", so that the inherent synthetic odor dissipates.What sets this pillow apart from the competition , in my opinion, is the exceedingly generous amount of shredded memory foam supplied, coupled with the ability to open the inner case and add or remove memory foam as desired. After allowing a few hours of time for expansion, it becomes evident that each pillow has arrived "stuffed to the gills" with shredded memory foam. There is, in addition, an extra bag of supplemental memory foam sent with each pillow.The option to add or remove memory foam is exceedingly important, because different people will require different degrees of loft, to supply a particular degree of support and positioning of head and cervical spine, for maximum comfort.As an example, in my own case, I have historically used a very thin, very hard pillow, because of a propensity for bulging cervical disks and consequent nerve root irritation. Particularly when lying supine (on my back), thick puffy pillows have historically elevated my head excessively, causing a flattening of the normal lordotic curve of the cervical spine, resulting in nerve root irritation, and next-day neck and shoulder pain. However, although a hard thin pillow has been helpful for me in that regard, it has been somewhat uncomfortable otherwise.I initially tried the pillow as delivered, filled to the brim with memory foam. Although very plush and initially comfortable, it had the aforementioned adverse effect on my head/neck position, with resulting pain in my neck. After removing a significant amount of shredded memory foam, I was able to shape the pillow for the exact configuration I needed (in my case, a prominent "pocket" of memory foam right beneath my neck, with a much thinner amount behind my head).As mentioned in my opening sentence above, the first decision to be made is whether or not a shredded memory foam pillow is right for you. If it is, then you will find an enormous latitude in ability to personalize this particular pillow, which I highly recommend.

I bought this pillow as a pillow to go under my main pillow for shoulder support as my shoulder was hurting from little support from my other pillow, however I didn't want it to be too full as my head would be too far up and I have a pinched nerve in my neck. At first it seemed too full so I took out a LOT of the stuffing which was messy tbh, but I suppose that's to be expected. I slept on it one night and realized that the foam has a lot more give than you realize so I ended up putting back in most of what I took out and it's fine. Another thing I noticed is that it's longer than a standard pillow and barely fits into my pillow case. I ordered the queen size. Anyway overall it's a comfy pillow and my shoulder doesn't hurt anymore so that's a win.

I’m super picky when it comes to pillows, namely because they’re so dang expensive! I bought these because I was curious about the foam. I actually love them! I like how you can take some of the stuffing out, and the foam is really supportive without being too firm or too soft. Great shape retention so far.

My wife's pillow was getting worn down and she worried that it affected her sleep. I searched for alternatives and found this set of shredded memory foam pillows.The pillows arrived vacuum sealed, rolled into a small tube-sized package. Once we opened the plastic the whole pillow inflated in about 30 minutes into a full firm pillow.One nice addition to the pillow was a vacuum sealed bag of additional stuffing, so you can add fill as the foam gets worn down over time.The pillow is a bit on the firm side, but by removing some of the stuffing we were able to customize the fit to my wife's preferences. In the past we have purchased pillows only to have them be too firm or too soft--with this pillow we can adjust until the loft is perfect.The construction on this pillow seems very sturdy, with the filling in an inner zippered case inside the outer zippered case (the picture attached shows both cases being unzipped). It is easy to add/remove stuffing, and the double zippers means the stuffing stays inside the pillow.We only needed the one pillow right now, so we put the second one and both bags of added fill in the closet until we need them. The packaging is great because the unused pillow is not taking up a lot of room and will stay clean until someone in the house needs a new pillow.We are very happy with this pillow!

On the plus side, the pillows are good quality fabric, well made, and adjustable. They come with a fair amount of extra shredded memory foam so you can fill them more in case they are too thin for your personal comfort, or you can empty some out if they feel too thick. I found them way too thick and heavy for my comfort, even after emptying out at least 30% of the foam bits. And they seem to clump together into a big lump that you can't move around to form fit to your neck and head. I returned them.

Very unimpressed with the added labor required to decompress the hard packed shredded foam

After airing for 2 days, the initial chemical smell was gone and the pillows were fluffy and soft, very comfy. But less than 3 weeks later, my pillow started feeling flat and lumpy... so I reached out via the email address that came with the box. To my surprise, customer service was very responsive and amicable and they’ve gone out of their way to make good on their product. Thank you!

Great quality and very comfortable.

One pillow is perfect with the foam. The other is incredibly soft...purchased together and same amount of foam for both. All i asked was for an extra bag of foam to accommodate the irregularities between the same product. Seller unwilling to accommodate request. Said they do not SELL extra foam and asked if i could send photos to help improve the quality control of their product moving forward....lol. Very polite interaction, but very unwilling to help a customer with a basic request. Would not purchase these pillows again and would not recommend.

Over the past few years my wife and I have amassed a collection of pillows that occupy the better part of 3 closets. We have now stopped searching for the perfect pillow as these are awesome, so much so that I have just ordered two more sets to make sure we never are without them. The biggest plus and now a must have for us, is the ability to customize the amount of me sort foam stuffing in each pillow. Together we removed enough memory foam to fill two more pillows without sacrificing the comfort. We are over the moon with these as they are perfect for us.
