I keep my 12 string instruments tuned down a full step to D to help relieve stress on the necks of the instruments especially my old (going on 50 yo) Martin D12-28 which are known for having neck issues. So a really good and easy to use capo is essential gear for me. I had been using an old (bought with my first guitar nearly 55 years ago) capo with a huge spring clamp padded with felt on the back and a clamp on fret bar. Effective BUT always would through the guitar way out of tune every time a change was made. Also very clumsy to put on/take off or move to change key.Enter this Kyser. Has plenty of clamp power to evenly fret the strings but keep retuning to a minimum (if at all). Works equally well on my Martin as my Seagull S12. So well in fact I bought a second one so each guitar can have it's own.They make a 6 string model only which I recommend as I tried this one on my 6 string and it's just too tight for it. Whacks the tuning out.Highly recommended

I didn’t know there was such a thing as a special capo for a 12-string guitar until I saw it here on Amazon. It is heavier duty construction with a longer arm for the thicker neck of a 12- string guitar. A “normal” size capo will work, but this is easier to use and presses all the strings down more firmly, so no buzzing or “dead” strings.

The capo spring is a little stiff when moving over to another frets. Hopefully that loosens up over time and usage. Also, the placement of the capo has to be placed perfectly for all the strings to ring out. If not, I find the lower E strings are muffled. Seems to me that the closer to the next fret is the sweet spot for the capo placement. Example, if the song is capo 1, then place closer to second fret. Quality seems good just like my 6 string Kyser capo I bought from Guitar Center years ago. Overall, good buy.

Great tone and coverage on 12 string.

I was skeptical; this looks exactly like the capo for my 6 string, which I tried for the 12 once upon a time and things went poorly. But this capo works perfectly! The spring holding the capo closed has so much more tension, it's unreal. This is exactly what I was looking for, and exactly what I needed. Just be prepared; the capo's tension will give you a real hand workout.

I use 2 pairs of 6 strings on my 12 string and the capo works good to hold them down. would recommend.

Mucho tiempo batallé con una guitara de 12 cuerdas de diapason concavo, intenté con muchos capos y al final no sonaba como yo quisiera. Un amigo me recomendó esta marca y pues lo intenté. Si pudiera darle 6 estrellas de 5 lo haría, este capo por fin logró el sonido que quería en mi guitarra de 12 cuerdas.
