Giving this another shot
I decided to give shaving with a safety razor a try. I'm tired of paying more and more for disposable blades. $40 for blades that don't shave that close just bugged me more each day.Of all the brushes I bought this one I like the least (synthetic). The tip is extremely prickly. No matter how many times I have tried this brush my thoughts remain the same, its just too annoying. I’m going to try the other $35 brush, same manufacturer. I really like the weight, stay tuned. This brush is VERY heavy and I like that it can't be tipped over onto the floor easily.

Easy to hold
But smells like a badger brush. Should have gotten a synthetic one but it works very well

Smaller than it looks - but still Parker silvertip good...
It's not a law - it's just my experience that the bigger the knot, the more soap it holds. The more soap it holds - the more lather-rich passes you can make. There a Gillette ad on TV that claims their razor will get all your beard on the first pass - I'd like to believe that, but experience prevents it. I also personally like a long handle so my big fat fingers don't get in the way. So all in all, the handle is nice and long - not that it couldn't be longer, and there enough of a knot to hold enough soap - not that the knot couldn't fatten to a superior, soap-holding 26.
