Great Frame Wish It Included The Table Top For The Price..

Great Frame, Strong Weight-Bearing Engine, Should Have Bought Predrilled Tabletop With This Frame
Having an adjustable tabletop has been a major quality of life boost in my work and home. I vary standing positions and sitting positions quite often depending on how tired I am, and I hate preset desk as you have to adapt to it rather than have the furniture adapt to you. This desk is one of Autonomous's newer lines, and having had an Evodesk for a long time, I wanted this for my bedroom as a worktable.I have to confess that I have a little bit of buyer's remorse with this in terms of not getting an included tabletop. I really should have bought the one with the tabletop rather than leave it to my own devices. I have seen elsewhere the quality of the AI desktops, and they are pretty great. With my own tabletop, I had to measure and drill pilot holes and other places for the frame to go in. For the four additional hours I had to spend finding a good tabletop (not that easy to get the right size and weight distribution), drill the pilot holes correctly (not easy for someone as bad as I am with home projects), and then attempt to assemble. The included printed assembly instructions are not that good, they do not go over some of the very easy pitfalls with wire management and positioning. However, Autonomous has videos on their Youtube channel that go through the installation visually, and you can actually the pitfalls even though they are not narrated. I would strongly recommend that you watch the videos before trying to select a tabletop. If you are not that handy, I actually feel that you should buy the version with a tabletop, I really should have myself.After assembly with the dampeners, I thought the engine was pretty loud, and this is even compared with my older model Evodesk, but I also closer to the motor than my Evodesk. We will see how this motor runs, but the warranty on this Evodesk is quite long, and the motor looks replaceable in case of full mechanical or electronic failure. I recommend this for a straight desk with the hesitation that you probably want to buy the included tabletop rather than bring your own in most cases.

Easy to Setup
Comes in a fairly small box, which worried me, but was pretty easy to setup. It's quite stable, and works with a variety of desk top widths which is nice. I would be careful of the desk depth, my desk top barely made it underneath the supports, and because it wasn't super wide, the feet were wider so I can't scoot it up against the wall as close as I expected (although in my case it works out fine, because when it raises it needs to clear a picture frame).It's a bit of work getting all the cables routed and cleaned up, but it's not too bad -- I opted to put the main box in-between the rails, that way both legs cables are right there, power can fit underneath the support, as well as the control cable.I haven't used different motorized legs before, but these are quiet, quick and love the control options with memory (it also has a height display that is on when the desk is moving).

Works smoothly with little noise
I had a desktop raiser, and I ended up removing it because the shelf for my monitor was much higher than the tabletop. I replaced it with this motorized frame, which I love. Now my computer sits on the table and is comfortable when I'm seated or standing.The instructions were a pain for me, so lots of head scratching. I finally screwed an old tabletop onto the frame, made sure all the wires were clear, and pressed the button, and voila! The entire desk raised. I can set four preset heights. So with a touch of a button, the desk can be raised to various heights to accommodate the whole family.The frame is very sturdy and well made. I can definitely recommend this, and it's a much better option than a tabletop raiser if you can afford it.

Smooth, Quiet Operation
The most amazing thing about this base is how quiet it is. Assembly was straightforward. You have to supply your own top. Once assembled it adjusts smoothly and quietly. It is fairly plain but it works well which is most important. I have back issues and an adjustable desk at work. My chiropractor recommended getting up and moving every hour when possible. An adjustable desk does help alleviate the soreness and stress from continued sitting. This was a fun project that benefits the whole family.
