This feels like a high quality hydration pack. The bag itself looks really good (we got the camo version) and is just the right size for our 7 year old and should last for a good few years as he grows. There are 2 pockets as well as a 'cinchable' compartment. The pockets/compartment have enough room for snacks, puncture repair kit, waterproof coat etc. The front pocket also has inner mesh and a key clip to keep keys safe. The water bladder works very well and is easy to fill, it's sometimes slightly fiddly to get it into the bag and attached to the loops that hold it in place. I've had a drink from the bladder and it does have a slight plastic taste, I'm guessing this may dissipate over time but I'm not sure, it doesn't make the water undrinkable. My 7 year old has used it on bike rides and has no problem with the weight when the bladder is full and he says it's comfortable to wear. All in all we feel this was a good purchase.

Delivered quickly excellent product from camel bak. The only thing I would say it’s been extremely hard to take away the plastic taste and I have tried everything!

It's ideal

Fantastic backpacks and worth the price. My children love to play outside, bike rides, long walks we've used them most weekends. Perfect gift giving the children some more responsibility for their water and snacks.

The bag is perfect for my 7yr old, very light and looks great, but the platypus leaked after the second or third use and hasn’t been usable since… I would definitely recommend the backpack, but maybe reinforce the tubing of the bladder in some way prior to use? We used it hiking and skiing and the straps can be extended to fit across my shoulders (athletic female, 5’8”)… my son found it very comfortable and breathable

Really light for my 9 year old and he has been shredding down the trails wearing this. I just wish i could stop him drinking the pack before the first trail!. He loves it which is a bonus

Perfect

I bought two for my twins. one of them leaked badly on from the joint at the bottom of the pouch on first use. This is a nightmare because my daughter's pack leaded for an entire hike - and it is 6 months after purchase. We just hadn't been able to use it. I am hoping the supplier will replace the pouch. The other one seems to work fine but i guess time will tell as reading the reviews this is a recurring problem. Disappointing quality given the cost - let's hope they sort it out

Our family enjoys hiking together, and we recently got the CamelBak Mini M.U.L.E. for our youngest (6yr old). It’s the perfect size for him and holds just the right amount of water for our hikes. The pouch is also a great size for him to carry a slim snack, which is very convenient. The backpack is well-made and comfortable for him to wear. Overall, it’s been a fantastic addition to our hiking gear, and we highly recommend it for young outdoor enthusiasts!

I bought this as a gift for my nephew. It works great, but I already knew that as my son already has one. Great hydration pack.
