Recently my HP Laptop crashed; when I took it to HP service center for repair, I received no help as the motherboard failed. Since the laptop was 5 years old, the components were not available. It has my 5 years personal and professional data which I needed at any cost. I asked HP team if they can help in data transfer from SSD to an external HDD but received no help. I took the laptop to data recovery service provider (do not want to mention name) in Hyderabad, and received a quote of Rs. 45875.00 + cost of new HDD.Before handing over the laptop for data recovery, I thought of taking a chance to buy an SSD to USB adapter available on Amazon. Lots of products are available with price between Rs. 1000 to Rs. 10000.00. I did my research and finalized this D'fine product.Here is my detailed review:1. The product cost is Rs 1500 which is reasonable as the same product is available in local computer stores @Rs.2250.002. Received the product within 3 days (thanks to supplier and Amazon for great delivery experience during lockdown)3. Before dispatching the product, received a call from seller to check the SSD type so that he can send the correct product (thanks to the seller, it was a great gesture)4. Apart from product, I received user manual, extra set of screws, heat sink, screw driver and product components properly packed. I followed the steps mentioned in the manual and I was able to assemble the product5. Post assembly, I connect the drive to my new laptop and to my surprise, I was able to get all my dataAdvantages of this product:1. It comes with USB type C connector;2. Data transfer rate in excellent (needless to mention the cost of the Type C cable is Rs. 500 in market)3. Comes with heat sink - an added protection for SSD4. Strong and sturdy case; looks beautiful5. Very reasonable priceCons: I did not find anyCaution to users:1. Please do not buy products that does not come with USB type C connector; cost of product may be low, but they are not worth it due to lower rate of data transfer.2. Please check the SSD type before placing the orderThanks to Amazon and seller of this product.

I got a call from the seller soon after I ordered this product, giving me the information about the same. which I think was brilliant. I received the product on 21st Sept, well packed and had everything that needs to assemble the enclosure to get it going.. It was very easy to install as the manual is very handy.Installed a Samsung 860 Evo M.2, tested by copying large files a few times and used it continuously for around 48 hrs with a lot of data transfers. The speed seems to be consistent as expected from an M.2 when mounted externally (Its neither an NVMe nor installed on a motherboard, so one can't expect more).. Its Indeed very good product, performing consistently, Excellent build quality and Value for money.

4 star as I feel nothing can be perfect.However the product delivers what it promises. Looks sturdy and premium.About Vendor: Supplier ensured that I am receiving what I have ordered. I received a call from them on product description and they also enquired on my requirement to ascertain the right fit.About Product: As I mentioned, product looked sturdy and premium and had everything in the package which you .Ay need to assemble the external sad drive. This didn't include ssd that one has to buy separately. The casing was of Aluminium and in my usase, which was installing OS, didn't present any heat issues.Cons: The connecting wire looks solid however is not flexible due to its sturdiness. That poses a challenge in cable management.Also, price point was bit higher for me, but if you are looking for premium product you can go for it.

Very well packaged and high quality enclosure. The provided manual and tools are very useful to immediately get going with using the SSD.Performance is on benchmark with USB 3.1 Gen 2 port capability. I’m using this for WindowsToGo setup. Working well so far.M.2 / NVME / SATA / SSD / M-key / B-key is usually mixed up in product descriptions resulting in Ordering wrong parts. The seller provided great support by proactively checking these and ensuring the right item was delivered. Very happy to have this buying experience!

This product would be good if it would work and if it was provided with heat sink. Since mine doesn't work and did not had heatsink.Overall I think 1 star just for the sturdiness and that's it

I bought it when I was upgrading my 2017 laptops internal SSD with EVO 860.It is a sturdy design and very easy to install. It also has thermal conduction sticker which helps distribute the heat. My SSD case will get quite hot if left plugged in for a long time even when not using much, which is not a bad thing as at least it is getting the heat out from the chip.I'm not too sure about the speed performance but was much faster than typical flash drives.The only grouch I have (and the reason for 3/5 stars) is that it doesn't support TRIM. Didn't know before but, in order to optimise (what is called defrag in HDD), the controller for SSD should support the TRIM command. Which this product doesn't. So if you are using for occasional backup, it's fine. If u expect lots of read/write cycles, better go for an enclosure which supports TRIM.
