Decent laptop for price
This laptop is ok, but I’ve had issues with the LCD cable and the monitor not displaying properly.

Good computer, bad touch pad.
This computer runs smoothly, is fast and has an adequate camera built in. The internal specs, like the ram and hard drive are all a standard user will need in a computer. No complaints so far with the keyboard, which is back lit. I have three complaints with this computer. The first and most annoying is that the click feature on the built in mouse pad is too sensitive. When I'm just moving the cursor around touch pad randomly clicks on things on the page sometimes when I don't want it too. Worse yet, the click feature sometimes gets stuck, which causes the browser tab I am working in to drag out from the rest of the tabs. I did not have this problem with my previous laptop, which was a mac and my laptop before that which was a dell with the buttons below the touch pad rather than as a feature built in when you click the touch pad. If you get this laptop, I would highly recommend getting a stand alone mouse that plugs into the computer to use with it. If you work in a setting where you can't do that, I would consider another laptop. The other problem, which seems to be a design idea implemented in many laptops these days is that someone moved the touch pad to the left. For me, most of the time I end up using the touch pad with my left hand because of this. Most people are right handed, so why not put the touch pad on the right which is easier to access with your right hand, or better yet, leave it in the center for ease of use with either hand? I've read several theories for why they moved it to the left, but for actual use, for me touch pads work better in the center where Apple computers and all older laptops of other brands put them. This design change makes it worse for most users IMO. Again, buying a stand alone mouse would solve this. The next thing that bothers me is that when the computer goes into sleep mode while left idle all browser tabs are closed and all open documents are closed. I left a word file open and walked away from my computer for 15 minutes. When I came back, the computer had gone into sleep mode and I lost all of my changes. My Mac kept files open when it went into sleep mode, so I could leave it and not risk losing work. I changed the settings so the computer will not go to sleep unless I leave it idle for 5 hours, but that is a waste of battery. I like a computer that keeps files and browser windows open when it goes into sleep mode. It also comes pre-installed with Mcaffee Virus software. After your trial expires (3 months) mcaffe blocks your internet access until you either purchase their software or uninstall the program. I uninstalled the program. But it took me an hour to figure out why my internet access was blocked. It turns out it was the pre-installed software. If the touch pad issues were fixed or if you use this computer with a stand alone mouse, I would give it four stars so far baring any future problems. The Mcaffee problem is solvable once you know you need to uninstall Mcaffee. The only unfixable problem is that this computer closes all of your files when it goes into sleep mode and I like to leave the same files open for days. But if you are the type of person who closes your files and browser tabs every time you walk away from the computer or at the end of each day that wouldn't bother you so much.On the plus side, not only is it powerful, it is also very light.

Battery Life
I've been using Dell products for many years and this is the first time, I've ever been disappointed in their product. Brand new out of the box, I notice I'm only getting about 2.5 to 3.5 hours of life from the battery. It seems to me that is low compared to other laptops out there. I'm not a gamer nor do I watch many videos. I've had at least 3 Dells previous to this one and I never noticed the quick drain on the battery like this one. I talked with Dell Tech support and they tried to help but finally told be that 3 to 4 hours is what I could expect. This review is meant to inform you that no matter what you hear or believe about the life of a Dell battery, it's going to be 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Depending on how import any battery life is to you, you might want to shop around.

Terrible battery life
Less than 5 hours of battery life. Worst battery life of any of the many laptops we've bought! If you need battery life avoid it at all costs.
