Ergon Men's SM Pro Saddle

I recently got into legit mountain bike trail riding. As a beginner, I was frustrated with the stock saddle that came on my Northrock XC27 that I've had for almost 6 years (rode primarily on flat, hard-packed trails and blacktop). After a few years, I noticed that it would make my cheeks sore and cut off circulation to my man parts, which felt really weird once I got off the bike. But I would just constantly shift my weight around as I rode and dealt with it, in order to get out and ride.Finally, I decided enough was enough. After researching and going through several saddles, I can say without a doubt this Ergon SM Pro is the only one I've tried that doesn't cut off circulation or make me feel fatigued and sore after riding for longer periods.I could tell right away as I broke the saddle in, that it was perfect for my size and shape (I'm 5'11", 195lbs), and the pressure I always felt on my sit bones was reduced dramatically.It's funny, because as a novice trail rider, I immediately assumed my issue was lack of padding, and the thicker the saddle, the better. But that is not the case. This Ergon is the slimmest of the ones I tried, but the quality of the cushioning, and shape of the saddle, really do matter, and I noticed it immediately when I got on my bike.I liked it so much that when I got my $2K Salsa Timberjack hardtail back in July, I immediately swapped out the stock WTB saddle with my Ergon.All in all, I don't mind spending a little more for a saddle that works. While often overlooked by casual riders, it's an essential component to the riding experience, and can make or break your enjoyment of the sport. And the price is not bad at all, when you consider there are saddles on the market that cost hundreds of dollars more than this Ergon.Now, grab yourself a saddle that works for you, and get out and ride!

To whom it concerns, 07/22/26Ergon nailed this seat! Easy to install. And I will give SIX ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of FIVE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for comfort.I ride twenty to thirty miles on average five days week. This is by far the best saddle I’ve ever had overall. I’m over 60 and have easily ridden over 100 saddles. I use this one on a MTB. High quality materials, look, and most importantly, feel. Immediately on your first ride it initially feels firm, but after a long ride you definitely notice it ends up feeling super plush and stable.

Replaced my WTB seat on my MTB with this one. Its definitely a step up in comfort but just in that it reduces numbness. It didn't do anything for cushion comfort. Ok, so I rated it a 4 star bike seat to help steer folks in the right direction. This is a good men's MTB seat. I only gave it 3 stars because of value for money though. Personally, I think it probably should be priced at most around $80 or $90. If your out of the seat and standing on the peddles often, maybe using your drop post, then this seat will work well for you. Glad I bought it. Wish I could have saved some money though.

This fit and felt so good that I bought two more to put on my indoor trainer and gravel bike. Highly recommend.

Not the butt saver everyone says they are. I've used this on my MTB's and my gravel rigs, but not totally impressed. Don't try to use on a stationary trainer at all or you'll hurt... if you're up and out of the saddle a lot while MTB it will work pretty good, but anything over 20 miles for sure

Comfy saddle that fits me. I equip all my bikes with this specific saddle.
