A Visual and Emotional Tour de force in Writing
Debris is the first L.M Brown book I have read and I swiftly ordered her second book. Only a great writer makes you feel like you are not only in the environment that the story inhabits but you are in the minds and emotions of its characters as well. It is this later talent that makes this read exceptional . It does start slow but never dull for you are totally absorb in the feelings and contradictions of the behavior of its Characters. I felt like I was experiencing a film version of the book ( before it has ever been made into one .. Yet ? ) because Browns style is so cinematic .

Entertaining, keeps your attention and don't want to put it down!
I absolutely loved this book! It sucked me in immediately and I sat for 2 hours before I had to put it down! I couldn't wait to get back to it and was able to read it on a plane ride. The plane was landing and I wanted to keep flying to finish it! The character development is very detailed and I have clear picture of each person and a vested interest in what happens to each of them. The story took a twist and ended in a way I wasn't expecting but tied together brilliantly! If you like mysteries, get this book! You will love it! Bravo to L. M. Brown!

Debris will trap you in a noir novel placed in Ireland.
I enjoyed this novel thoroughly. The characters are intense and the plot unravels and twists and you are trapped in the lives of the young people involved, and their parents and extended families. The Irish community were the history takes place is also well described and places and characters unfold in all their dramas and interactions with each other. The magic elements and the beliefs of the Irish culture appear in the shape of ghosts present in the minds of susceptible young people trapped in problems too complex for them to resolve.
