Patience needed with base on second figure :-)
This is a beautiful set of figures, complete with data cards and other things to include in the game. However, my review is based around being a figure painter and not a gamer, so please bear with me. The figures come on a very nice sprue, with numbered parts, and so easy to follow with the instructions. Also, you get extra arms for the figure, so you can make one of the action poses even more dynamic by adding a second lightsaber wielding pose, with a little fiddling and filling of gaps :-) This is the second time I've done these figures, but my first time building and painting them for my own collection, so I went with the Force wielding and walking stick pose as shown in the box and instructions, and a single weapon wielding pose for the leaping figure. One thing I learned early on is to rock formation the leaping figure is shown on by gluing the main part to a base first, then carefully gluing the second part to it, and leave it to set before adding the leg piece (This will take some patience, too, even if using super glue, as it slips slightly under pressure). The rest of the parts go together very well, and you even get spare heads on the sprue, with some nice expressions on the faces, so there's even more choice value there :-) I didn't use the blank bases that come in the box, as I wanted to use some spare resin scenic bases, so have two extra blank bases now to use for other figures, so happy days with that little addition to my collection of spare bases. The artwork on the box and the game sheets is wonderful, very high quality, and gives a good idea for how to paint the robes and the lightsaber, with areas showing Object Source Lighting if you want to paint that effect for that little extra "oomph" on the figure. Absolutely beautiful when assembled, with plenty of space to get the inner sides of the robes painted, and wonderful detail on the faces, hands and feet, and even hair to paint, so I am very eager to get down to painting these figures again, and seeing the finished product among my growing collection. My only complaint is the three part base, which can be very fiddly to assemble if you're not used to building models this small, and could have been better cast as just a two-part piece, but that's the only minor complaint I could come up with, as these figures are just so beautiful for their small size, packed with character, and a joy to paint when assembled/primed. I'm going to see what other figures are available in this game range, and start adding them to my collection soon :-)

A Quality Product - But Beware the Droids!
I picked this up a few weeks back and have since started work on sourcing a full range of both the Clone Wars and Galactic Civil War ranges of Legion models. I actually got into both the Legion and Armada product lines whilst on the hunt for prospective miniatures to use in an Edge of Empire RPG game I'm looking to run with my social group when we finally manage to escape lockdown!Overall I've found that this is very well put together core box. For me the quality of the materials is key part of any game, primarily due to the high use that they can get if they're popular with the group. Suffice to say that this is no exception, the tokens, cards and rulebook feel like they should wear well with continued use and I love the artwork.I really like the models in the entire Legion range, not just this core box. Similar sort of build quality to the likes of Game Workshop, with a nice level of detail and solid build feel. This is also one of those ranges that I can see myself painting up all nice and fancy. They just look and feel like they're going to be an easy paint job! There are only two things I would raise. The first is to beware the droid models when putting them together! I'm used to taking apart flimsy bits and pieces from sprues over the years, but I suspect the droids are all very easy to break for the uninitiated, so be sure to take care when getting them off the sprues, I would suggest a good pair of clippers and/or a sharp crafting knife (I almost snapped the end of a blaster rifle whilst using a crafting blade but was luckily able to salvage it with a smidgen of super glue). Oh you will need to get super glue for this...My second point would be that it would be a little easier if the General Grievous model had individual blueprints for putting it together. There are several variant builds/poses for General Grievous, but (presumably to save space in printing) they've only used a single visual instruction of the model with all parts for all the variants shown, definitely threw me off for a bit trying to work out whether one or two parts were meant to be included or not!Apart from those two points it's a good little starter set and I look forward to dual using it for both Legion games and to supplement some RPG gaming. I only wish more of these came with foam to protect the models once their built...

Great Fun.
Whilst this is just the "core set" and really less than 1/2 of what you'll need to be able to field two full 800 point armies. It does contain enough to play the learning game on a 3x3 foot area and get used to the rules. You'll need to add either a second core set or several of the expansion units to reach two full armies, more if you want to add a great deal of variation to your army lists. The game is just so much fun. The rules are simple with just enough depth to bring tactics into play and with ample expansion units there's a lot of room for variation in play style and army lists. There's really endless hours of re-playability to be had if you get into this game.Requires a small amount of assembly and ideally painting, which can be a fun hobby in itself.

Excellent models though battledroids can be fiddly to assemble
Excellent product, very good value. Just be aware that the clone troopers only have 5 or 6 parts to put together and can be built in minutes, the battledroids have more parts, smaller locating lugs and will take considerably longer. They can also be quite fiddly to handle whilst doing so. But persevere and you will be rewarded with some really good little models. May also be a little less rugged than the clones due to difference in material/construction if not handled more carefully - but i have had no disasters yet.

Great detail and zero flash.
Really nice product that go together easy with next to no seam clean up required.

This Captain Rex is quality.
My first ever miniature. Painted while I was recovering from surgery. Model is greater, barely had to clean him up. I should've used better paints, but used what I had on hand. Turned out great, painted both helmets. Not difficult at all to assemble. Came with cards and tokens for the game, as he is an expansion, but I have no use for them. He's made of plastic, so durability is no problem. Don't know if he is worth the money for someone who wants to put him on a shelf, he is about 2 inches tall.

Fine Additions to the Collection
If you want some fun expansions to the game or you’re tired of seeing the same old B1 battle droids, this is for you. Bought these as a gift for my friend, he loved them.
