This is great but its not easy to fly.

Doesn't do everything as described and camera doesn't stay connected with the WiFi but is decent for the price.

First let me say this is a great practice quad copter and at the price it's really good. This is not a mini copter, its overall width and length is approximately 12 1/2". I could fly it at at least 30' in the air without much difficulty, but it was hard to control in the wind. It was immense fun to learn how to use it and fly. My 12 year old didn't have the finesse on the controls to handle this machine and my 5 year old just flew it either straight up or down! It took me about four charge/fly cycles before I managed what I would call a really smooth flight, but even then I couldn't get a prolonged hover. I was getting 12 minutes fly time and a 2 hour recharge time. If the camera pack was plugged in (can be unplugged easily) then I got 10 minutes fly time. The camera can be viewed directly using a smart phone and the app downloaded from the app store. The app has a mode, that didn't do anything, for controlling the copter flight. I suppose this only works with a different model. However, the viewing, recording and playback part worked fine. There was no SD card despite that being in the listing. The support on the controller that holds the phone had a problem with my Note 4 in an OtterBox because a) it was too heavy so it 'flopped' and b) the suckers wouldn't stick to the cover. (Probably would not have a problem with a smaller, lighter phone.Here's what I did like about it:>>It's fun!>>It's really sturdy. When I first took it out of the package I was sure that it would break at the first fall. I have crashed this on grass and concrete many times and there's not a dent on it.>>There are extra props in the package for when you break one.>>Easy to track with the flashing lights. (I hit a bush in the dark and the lights brought me straight to the place.)>>The blade guards are tough and flexible enough to stand many hits (and they have).>>It's quiet. I've heard so many quad copters that are loud and obnoxious. This one makes little noise and doesn't bother others.Here's what I didn't like about it (a lot of these are minor):>>The battery is fiddly to get in and out and you sometimes need to use a tool to extract it. The camera pack makes it even harder to get the battery out, but it can be done and you get used to how it works eventually.>>The camera gives a good picture, but it does not point straight down. You can move it from 0 to 45 degrees, but can't see right below the copter.>>The hovering is very difficult. There is a bunch of drift that makes it difficult to hover and the trim functions don't seem to help much.>>The instructions were very basic and could have done with some more information for the beginner.>>Maybe I'm misunderstanding the throw to fly concept here, but I had to have the blades rotating to get the throw to fly working.As you can see from the pictures, quadcopter does come in a nice presentation box so great for gift giving.
