Making history fun!
Exciting subject perfectly narrated for young people. This author gets all the facts correct but writes it in a way that keeps children completely engaged in the story.

I ordered this book to help with my son's school project/speech on Captain John Smith. The book is full of great detail on everything that John Smith did in his life, but on a kid appropriate level. I like how it explained what people believed about the Pocohontas story and as what probably actually happened. I think the organization of the book could be better by separating in to chapters instead of just headings for new sections. Maybe just a few more pictures added would be good since this is a children's book. Overall, perfect for what we needed it for.

CDL Book behind the Cover?!
Something happened in the printing of our copy. The title is right but then immediately there is a completely different book - CDL Practice Questions and Answers. 86 pages later is the Captian John Smith book....I would please like this book replaced with the correct one.

Cool read.
This is an awesome book. Written for a younger reader, but it did make me want to learn more about Captain John Smith. Thank you Juliana.

To the writer complaining about matchbox in the book
Did the reviewer who gave this book a one star misunderstand 'matchlock'? Yes, these were around for quite some time. And John Smith had been in many areas where explosives were tested and used. He had seen quite a lot on his travels.

She did her research
I’ve read tons of historical non-fiction and this book stands out. I can see through special details how much research and heart the writer put into this. Thank you for a great read for me and my kids.

I don't believe half the of the stories
This author told the story about Matchbox muskets as she called them, which sounds really cool except matches did not get invented until 1826. Almost 200 years after John Smith was dead. She just made up a bunch of stories or at least did very little research
