Awesome Left-Handed-Friendly Box Opener
Perfect tool for safely opening packaging, and the fact you can switch the blade to the other side to be used left-handed is fantastic. A game changer of a tool, especially for us southpaws. Never use a big knife or scissors to open a box (potentially damaging what's inside, or yourself) again.Ignore the bad reviews -- it seems many people mistake the lock switch for a blade lock, when it's actually just a lock to hold the whole thing together; so they move it to 'unlock' and then wonder why it falls apart, or complain the green one springs back even though they've 'locked it'. Get the orange one if you want it to not spring back and be able to stay open -- the green one springs back by design (and as an added safety feature).Bought a few of these; one near the front door for boxes, one for the kitchen, one for the office, and a few as gifts and seen no issues with any. It's not cheap at £15 but in this case you get what you pay for. A quality well-made product which does its job perfectly.[Edit] The last couple of these I got have been very loose and not locked closed or open securely due to a permanently bent spring. The spring (in the orange one at least) is just plastic, so I had to open them up and apply some heat to straighten the spring bar allowing it to naturally lock open or closed. I think this may happen if kept long term in the halfway position, so not good if any are left like that from the factory.

Cutters for boxes.
These cutters are very handy and good for businesses, or in house, very good.

box cutter
Its a fairly small safe box cutter which works quite well, the blade is retractable which is good but be careful as I suspect the blade can be easily snapped

Ceramic package opener
A great way to safely open packages. The ceramic blade is not sharp like a knife and will not cut your skin if you touch or even run it along your hand. However it will cut through packing tape and even the cardboard itself with ease. Build quality seems fine. The Slice is quite small so convenient enough for your pocket or purse. Ideal for those that open lots of packages or don't like using a knife.

Absolute rubbish!
The construction is very flimsy, the shape is not very user focused and more importantly the blade is not at all sharp and can only really be used for paper, tape or very thin card. The blade isn't even sharp enough to cut the card packaging the knife arrived in.The blunt tip also makes it difficult to penetrate tape etc and cutting needs to be started at the edge of the taped box.I tried with an envelope which worked very well but I can open an envelope with a ruler.Basically, this is nothing more than a poor gimmick and in know way suitable for anything more than light use. Given the replacements are £5 each, leaves me with no idea who likes this item.I'll stick with my Swiss army knife, fat max craft knives. The size is also bigger than I expected making its intended use as a keyring not plausible.Would I recommend? Not in the slightest, unless it's for children to cut thin card as an arts and crafts tool. However the auto version with spring is quite difficult to hold extended, this would recommend the locking version.

Why can't this can't have a switch on BOTH sides instead of faffing around with the blade inside?
I bought this to cut through the tape on sealed boxes (without damaging the contents). It does the job, but it's small and quite fiddly. There are better options though, this is strictly suited for left OR right handed people, not both & I need to cut the tape on the 3 sides of the boxes - left, top & right side. Yes, I get some people wouldn't mind just rotating the box, but in my workplace, there isn't room. The blade pushing button/switch should have been on BOTH sides of this. I like it but it just feels like a flawed design especially given the expense.

Let's cut to the chase
Lovely, it does exactly what you need it to do. It's a reasonably weak magnet but strong enough to hold itself wherever you need to. Also, when it comes to these types of small ceramic cutters, the size of the blade, when revealed, is much larger than I've had before, which means it's much better at getting through thicker tape or light cardboard.

Magnetic easy cutter
I keep my cutter on the fridge where it is easy to find and use. It is perfect for undoing parcels and sealed tablets packets. It is very sharp and has a retractable blade for safety. Much easier than trying to find a pair of scissors and safer than getting a sharp kitchen knife! This is the second one I have purchased as my son took a liking to my first one and has borrowed it on a permanent basis!
