Thonet and Vander GRUND - Wooden Tv Soundbar (Single) - German Engineering and Design

While too tall to work as a tv sound-base (it's more like a set of deep bookshelf speakers turned sideways sandwiching a skinny amp), it does fit on the bottom shelf of my entertainment center and thus frees-up top shelf space that a pair of speakers would take. As other reviews said, no need to plug a floor woofer into the available rca port. Two big woofers and two tweeters earn it only 4 stars since the mid-range is just OK. Has 8 equalizer presets, but only two or three usable (#1 I found works best with my tv, phonograph, and bluetooth connected android phone playing Pandora). As with German cars, great design and performance, but a few quality issues. 1st, the remote was dead out of the box. Luckily my universal remote works with some features, however, without a remote, most features can not be accessed (you can only do a few things with the buttons on front panel). Sometimes, when using the volume buttons on front panel, the down button increases volume. Optical in for the tv is nice. I plugged my turntable in without using my external pre-amp and it sounds great (not sure why).

So far very good. The sound is smooth, detailed and not booming. Just enough for the price to enhance the TV Viewing experience. I emailed Thonet and Vander to let them know that for some reason as I scroll through my Apple TV the Volume changes on the Grund. Just by jumping up and down different icons shown on the Apple TV. Like You Tube or whatever and the same if you click on YouTube and scroll through all the different items.Otherwise very good so far.

This is a large sound bar which delivers clear dialog and good base , you can add a sub-woofer but I found that I really didn't need it. It fills the room and presents a very large sound stage due its 5 inch speakers and rear ported bass reflex. I have listened to other sound bars some of which costing twice as much but none of them equal the Grund. Many sound bars on the market have 2 - 3 inch speakers which to me sound very thin and are not capable of producing depth or full mid range vocal dialog. The Grund has 2 Aramid Fiber ( kevlar ) 5" Woofers and 2 1' tweeters which allow the Grund to also preform well when listening to music.

Has problems syncing the blue tooth with my Mac and IPhone. It does sound good but it seams to be under powered for such a large speaker. What sound comes out of it does sound great though.

For the affordable price you get a great sounding sound bar it's just as good as a bose sound bar or any other high end type. The only issue I have I didn't realize the soundbar it's kinda big and a bit heavy but overall a good soundbar for the price.

Fast shipping but broken remote...

Only had this 2 days and I am pleased so far. I will test this thoroughly and update this review but what I have found so far...Positives:+ remote is better quality than expected. These are usually a really cheap tiny after thought. Can pause and play music streamed via YouTube and Spotify.+ touch controls on the front of the speaker system.+ smart and neat looking.+ good rich bass sound but too overpowering.+ equaliser to adjust treble and base.Negatives:- its pretty big! Width 80cm x height 17cm x depth 34cmOverall, I am impressed. If you don't mind the size then this is a bargain. Which makes me think you don't need to pay silly money to get a good quality well made product to do a great job!

Beautiful sound bar, bought it after a strong comparison with other brand price quantity output. Very happy with this product.Love music in my sound bar.

Très grosse boite, matériaux solides et affichant une qualité indéniable.Fonctionne du premier coups avec airplay sur iphone.notice plutot légère.Pas d'écran lcd mais des petites led. Je n'ai pas réussi à configurer le mode de démarrage en optique in, il se place toujours en bluetooth et donc démarre mon téléphone en lecture si je ne suis pas assez rapide pour switché l'entrée.

So happy with this sound bass.
