This guide is shows you how to visualize the electric field of multiple devices/configurations. As a beginner, it gave me some tips and tricks. It is lacking in analysis beyond showing what the field looks like. For example it will give you the field distribution of a waveguide but not power measurements or insightful discussion of the results

I liked this book that show you how to model the most used integrated optical components in comsol. Moreover, it is preatty clearly written and concise. I really appreciated the efford of the author. However, the book it is not very informative and a few sentences describing the obtained results and some introduction for each chaptwr would have been nice. Especially, despite the title, a few exemple of calculations extracted from the models would have been great. It is a nice book for optowlectronic engineers or simulation scientists that need to get some practise with comsol, however, for the price, I think that it could become a great tool for this audience once added the things discussed above.
