Eyewitness: The Visual Bible Experience Hardcover – September 1, 2020

The illustrations are so wild, bright, & spectacular! So is the storytelling! You won’t be disappointed with this book, mine sits on my coffee table, a good conversation starter- a different point of view, helps to expand your thinking🙂

This can be given as a gift or read to others. Some have said that it is dark, well sometimes life is dark, that is why Christ came. Those who desire to live in the light are redeemed. So walk as a child of the Lord. The book is all about: - redemption. - It compliments the bible, by breaking down specific events into a 1st person narration of every biblical character that we can apply. By no means does it diminish. This book should not replace the bible. In fact a person should read the bible. - The stories are illustrated through narration, the possible and relatable struggles of a Christian. I hope this encourages anyone that is artistically minded..the artists looking for tools to encourage a daily walk with God, so get to know His character and be refreshed with purpose by diving In the bible... For mankind shall not live by physical foods alone, but by every word of God.

Engaging for teens and adults who already know these most well-known Bible stories to experience them in a fresh way through beautiful visualization and descriptive, poetic narrative and dialogue. Not recommended for children, as advertised, a picture book for adults. Easy read, but better to read, re-read, and discuss each single story (2-3 pages of texts) of each person's life before moving on.

Truth be told, I bought "Eyewitness" online for the amazing cover art. When I opened the beautifully bound volume, I received much more. It is illustrated by 16 international artists whose art gifts are as varied as God's kingdom. But I couldn't put it down when I started reading. Each character of the Bible tells their own story. Well written, in story format, this engaging book invites you to learn about the Bible from "Eyewitness" accounts, and summarizes the morals of each story at the end using a few paragraphs enclosed in a distinctive, bordered box. It doesn't matter if you have every translation of the Bible available. This book brings the ancient, living Word into our reality. Don't miss the chance to meet the characters of the Bible, yet again, in this inspired book. You won't want to put it down!

I was initially skeptical about getting this book because of some of the other reviews I was seeing. It sat in my cart for several months before I finally decided to purchase it. And I am SO THANKFUL that I did. My first time reading the book was after an immensely difficult day at work. I decided to add it to my study for that night and when I did, Esther's "eye witness story" jumped out at me. As I read, it ministered directly to my situation and spiritual needs for encouragement and empowerment at that time. This book, the content, the graphics are all amazing. What really, really makes it even more perfect - the cherry on top - is the way the authors created presented the Biblical characters' stories as dialogues, poems, and monologues.

[TAKE NOTE: Book's website: "not intended for children" / Amazon: "… for adults and older teens."]Eyewitness is visually stunning, presenting a wide variety of art styles, with only a few that felt out of place (though admittedly, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"). Inspirational material was satisfying, with emphasis on God's love for mankind. The insights too often felt superficial (especially when the author speaks for a woman in the first person), as if written by a male Western mind that might not fully appreciate Bible context, historical culture, or the female experience. Makes a nice addition to any library.

I love Reading these stories and I’m 42 years old my teenagers also enjoy. It helps them understand Bible stories without feeling like little children.

Our family took turns reading this book aloud to my sister, an avid reader who lost her sight and struggled to communicate. It brought the family together as we prepared for my sister's passing and more importantly gave us opportunities to talk about our faith in God and the paths we are on as a family. One of your readers reviewed the book as dark - that's what we are without God - but this book is insight into our Bible Heroes who were just people. People with problems and issues, people like us. This book was inspiring and comforting a book about God's grace and love. As my sister said during a reading session, "The greatest gift is Love - always love."

Too damaged to be able to be given as a present, I’m absolutely gutted.
