Alluring Turmoil: Book 1 Bayou Stix

I have a strong dislike of rock star stories but thank God, I finally found an author who did it right! Loved this book in so many ways but other than the rock god and his lady love, there wasn't much else to the story. The reason I had my eye on this book was the setting - Baton Rouge, the place I travel to several times a year to catch a Better than Ezra concert or an LSU game. Jude is the hot front man for Bayou Stix, born & bred in Baton Rouge and coming home to stay. Lexi is his high school love & you don't find out until near the end what exactly tore them apart 8 years ago. Jude wasn't your typical rock star, cocky & boozing it up & sleeping with groupies, until he lost Lexi. What I appreciate about this book is that you know something tore them apart & now that they are together they are going to have some adjustment to the fact that Jude is a rock star & has everything laid out in front of him for the taking. But when they come back together after 8 years it is fast & furious & they don't control their emotions along with their physical connection to each other which could never be replaced. Lots of hot sex here people, and what I liked it that they both admitted to how much they loved each other & still do to this day. The story flips between Lexi's POV & Jude's as well as the past & present and you can clearly read how much Jude longs for a future with Lexi. When we go back into the past it doesn't hurt quite so bad because we know how strong they are now. Jude's posse seems to judge Lexi like she ended their relationship, but then Lexi's posse judges Jude for breaking Lexi's heart. So whose fault is it? I really liked how the tables were turned in this rock star story because it is nice to see a rock star who really was deeply in love & was still judged for being a stereotypical rock star. Wonderful book and we get the set up for Jessie, the guitarist in Bayou Stix.

Alluring Turmoil by Skye TurnerSkye Turner's debut novel? It cannot be her first. Where do I even start with the main characters in this book. The chemistry you feel while reading about Jude and Lexi is palpable. Skye Turner's words put you right there in the middle of it all throughout this whole story! Just like you were some kind of Peeping Tom! LoL! Your heart will pound. Your breath will come quick. You will have to adjust where you hold your Kindle because your chest will be heaving and keeps blocking your view. And IF you are wearing panties you will be changing them often. They are such a dynamic couple. You can't go wrong with one sexy bitch and a hotter than hell Rock Star!! This is the kind of steamy read that gets you #1clicking the rest of the books in the series before you're even a quarter way through. If you're in the mood for some sweet and some really freaking hot scenes this is an easy #1click for you!! Now for my Public Service Announcement...WARNING: This book is so H.A.W.T. DO NOT! Alluring Turmoil is the story of how after 8 long years of missing, hating and loving each other Lexi and Jude run into each other in their hometown. Lexi and her best friend Erik opened up a successful bakery/coffee shop which owning a bakery was Lexi's dream. Jude went off to pursue his life long dream of becoming a famous musician. At the end of Bayou Stix's tour, the last show is set to play in Jude's hometown. When Jude walks into Java & Sweeties, this is when the past and the present collide for the two. Erik knows what happened between Lexi and Jude because they had all been great friends and Erik stayed by Lexi's side being her support.There are a lot of emotions in the air when Jude and Lexi see each other for the first time in 8 years. They didn't leave on good terms so this surprise meeting, Lexi doesn't do well. Over the past 8 years, Jude was devastated by Lexi leaving him without explaining her reasons. For this he is upset, hurt, hating and loving her all at the same time because he doesn't understand why they aren't together anymore. After all these years he has not been able to find any woman that is it for him because he can't get Lexi out of his head and especially his heart. Lexi is shocked to see the man who haunts her dreams. She hates and loves him for what he did to her. She has never found anyone to take his place and the majority of the reason is he has remained in her mind and her heart even though she broke up with him for what she feels if valid reasons.Lexi and Jude decide to live in the present and forget about the past without discussing and resolving what happened all those years ago. The two have not lost the desire and love they have for each other even though they have lived their lives separately and have made mistakes. They start out somewhat slow to get to know each other again and not jump right into intercourse right away. Of course those things never last long. They are definitely hot together.Lexi and Jude of course have some up and downs in the story. There are many misunderstandings that happen in their present and also happened in their past. They need to grow and learn how to talk to each other to see what things really are as opposed to just taking it at face value.I really enjoyed the other characters in the book like her other best friend Randi because she is willing to do anything for her friend just like Erik. The band members Jessie, Dade, Cruz and Liam want to see Jude stay in a good frame of mind not like after the two broke up 8 years ago because Jude was a mess. They try to help the two of them out to hopefully have the best outcome for both of them.I really loved the story of Lexi and Jude because it wasn't about someone they just met out one night at a bar and went home to sleep together and end up together. These two had a past together before they became reacquainted with one another. This makes you want to find out if they can work out all that has happened in the past and what has transpired in the present to see if they will be able to stay together or not. I would recommend this book. It is an awesome read!

Okay so I know I'm totally late to the party in reading this book but omg I loved it!!!!It has a great story line and Skye Turner's writing style makes it so easy for you to lose yourself in the book I stayed up into the early hours to finish I was so intrigued about Lexi and Jude's story.Lexi and Jude were inseparable as teenagers they were everything to each other but when Jude's music career took off something tore them apart leaving them both heartbroken. Eight years later Jude is back in his home town of Baton Rouge and seeks out Lexi neither one of them have moved on where a relationship is concerned and they may think they hate each other but when the truth of their past is revealed will they finally grab the chance to be together again?**Complementary copy received for an honest review***

Ok first thing i have to say is ..... i freaking loved it !! This was one of those books that once you start it you won't put it down till its finished and even then you wont want it to be the end!!!Lexi, Erik and Jude have grown up together. Lexi and Jude fall in love, passionately in love!! The book doesn't tell you at the start what caused them to fall apart, but the story begins there and with Jude coming back into her life 8 years later. Lexi and Erik have a successful business, Jude is a famous rock star, and hence the passion begins!! The chemistry between Jude and Lexi is off the charts, they just can't get enough of each other and head straight into being together again. Lexi still has a few doubts because of past relationship but ingores them because Jude is her ONE!! I loved the characters !! The twists and turns in the story made it fast paced and a page turner! Lexi's friends were hilarious especially Bradi. This book has it all, humour, love, passion, HOT SEX!! and tears!Its definitely a book i will recommend to friends and anyone else!My biggest complaint.... WE WANT MORE !!!

I saw this book being recommended on Facebook, It also had quite a few 5 star reviews. Unfortunately, it is undeserving of 5 stars in my honest opinion. I really really tried to like it but......Positive points;The plot line had the potential to be fantastic and indeed the premise is very good and interesting. However, I have read similar stories that have been done much better.Negatives;The dialogue is clunky, stilted and plodding; it just does not flow naturally.The heroine has an annoying habit of starting her sentences with "yes," then proceeding to answer each question posed in a methodical manner (again with the non- flowing...).The plot line gets a bit interesting but then dissolves into nothing.The characters could not hold my attention (again due the dialogue)Overall, I came away with the impression that it was written by someone incredibly young and i'm sorry to say that I have read better written fan fiction.Overall I want to give it 1.5 starsI rarely give up on a book but I abandoned this 3/4 of the way through.

I'm not sure where to start!!! I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! I was captured from the very first page. I just loved the dynamic between Jude and Lexi and I loved that they rekindled their relationship from 8 years previous. We were kept holding on as the truth behind their break-up was not disclosed till much later in the book. I loved the hot and steamy sex scenes and thought the dialogue was funny in places, realistic and emotional. I was devastated when the book finished and loved that Jude and Lexi got their HEA. I'm hoping that I will get to hear more from them when I read Jessie and Blue's story next!! Would and WILL recommend to anyone and everyone to add this superb book to their "must read" lists!!!Just brilliant!!Emma xx

Im not one for reading very long novels i prefer the shorter stories as some authors just dont capture my attention through a long novel and then i end up skipping to the end but SKYE TURNER you kept my attention from the start to finish this is the first novel i have read in full for months....the hot rockers, the steamy hot sex just everything about this book i loved. I just know i will be re reading this again and again... cant wait for book two to come out im hoping for a wedding aswell ;)If your looking for...Hot rockersConfident sexy womenSteamy hot sex scenesperfect love story.... then this is the book for you.Great first novel for such a talented writer

This is the first of Skye Turner's series about Bayou Stix a rock group from Louisiana. Jude Delocroix is the leader and the first one to be featured. He & Lexy are old flames with a lot of history & pent up emotion. This story the you on a journey of rediscovery for them and of discovery for us as readers. The emotion & passion, understanding & misunderstanding is palpable. Loved this.....more please of these rocker boys

Much the same as a lot of other rock romances. A sexy rocker, perfect girl and hot sex. The characters were likeable and it was an easy read that you couldn't put down. Think Lexi's change of heart was a little quick at the beginning, but then when you know the main characters are going to get down and dirty, they may as well just get on with it! A good start to an enjoyable series.

It's a good story but I found it to be short compared to other e books I've read. I felt like to much went on to quick without depth, . I got o tthe end to see book 2 is out 2014. I hope this isn't going to be one of those stories that goes on an on until you get to book #10 then get to the end because there is no way id buy then as they work out to expensive. Not worth the price for the e book, tad expensive for this book.

Loved the characters ALL of them...that alone no author has managed to do!!! God all the bandmates are gonna be hot aren't they??? Now I want my very own blond (with purple spikes) rock God to come and sweep me off my feet.Amazing book. Congratulations looking forward to the next book in this series

Loved this book that much I read it in one day ,if you like a good love story with lots of hot and I mean hot sex you will love this book .I for one will be buying the next book when it comes out skye Turner is brilliant at what she does her book draws you in from the first page go ladies download this book you won't be disappointed

I loved this book from the first page , it had me sucked in . I fell in love with Lexi and Jude!! This book was so much more than your average love story . This book made me laugh , cry and smile lots . Such a fantastic story !! i cant wait to read all of this authors work . Skye you rock <3

I absolutely love Lexi and Jude as well as the other characters. Certain parts had me laughing, others had me frustrated but through the whole story I was captivated. Thank you for a wonderful story and for bringing Lexi and Jude into the world! You're awesome!

Read this story after a recommendation on a book site, it's been on my kindle for a while but hadn't got round to reading it, so glad I did, loved the characters and the story. Great debut novel and looking forward to reading more from this author.

First book I've read by this author. Just love rock star romance stories, and this didn't disappoint. Although I did find that they moved from hating each other to loving each other during the course of a page.

This is my first rock star read and it's blown me away, Jude and Lexi's story is truly amazing and by God is it H O T. I'm really looking forward to reading the rest of the Bayou Stix books xxx
