This unit is absolutely great; once you understand it and 'adjusts it'.
Hello!Bought it about a year ago now (July 12, 2021, now it's July 2022) but did not use it until about three months ago, because we had to leave for a month. So, we programed it very basically: 10 minutes every 24 hours one outlet, and three minutes every 24 hours the second outlet.Well, after a month, plants were in perfect shape; so, success (refused to work for the last few days due to weak batteries, but worked Ok while it could). What makes it so great are the programming capabilites it has and the simplicity. But you have to figure them out; with fresh batteries:With the outlet reset and in zero minutes, turn to ON and it will open that outlet until you turn it off. That is (and remaining instructions) for each outlet, independently. With outlet reset and in zero minutes, turn the duration to a desired one (let's say three minutes); it will open and will keep opened for the duration selected, and then will close. With outlet reset and in zero minutes, turn cycling to the desired value (let's say every 24 hours) and then set duration to the desired value (let's say 10 minutes); nothing will happen until 24 hours later (the desired cycling) when it will open for 10 minutes (the set duration), and it will repeat every 24 hours, as set. But, what if you want to open the outlet immediately? Well, you will set the cycling and the duration, AND will turn cycling back to rest without changing duration, and it will open at once (well, it will take a second or two, while it figures out what do you want) and will close after duration; at that moment set the cycling again. The draw back is that you have to be there, for the first duration to set the cycling back again. We're pretty sure that if you set the duration and after that duration you set the cycling, it will work Ok, but we didn't test that specifically (we just did it today, let's see what happens tomorrow). So, there is no clock to set; just reset it and it will cycle as selected. Some people hate this, but I like it not to have to set a clock, this makes the unit cheaper, and works flawlessly. The second thing people don't like is that you have to set the unit up at the time you want it to work (if it is at 3 o'clock in the early day, well, you have to be there at that time). But we set it for 8:00am, so we are very happy with that. At the end, it's cheap, and it's simple, without the hassle of setting up a clock. The LED:Slow blinking (about every four seconds), batteries are Ok; faster blinking, batteries need replacement and unit will not work at all.'Adjustment':Well, it filled with water, even that it was covered; so, the water 'came from inside'. It happens that it leaks internally, through the valve actuators. We had to open the unit to find out the motors submerged and corroded. We cleaned it the best we could, and tightened the screws holding the valve actuators, and it seems it's working OK now. Anyway, we made some perforations to allow the water to come out, if that flooding happens again. If you are going to drill, be clear that it will void any warranty (that we never though of anyway) and make sure you do not drill the water channels. If you are going to do it, do it at your own risk, we assume no responsibility at all.We think that the unit did not last the whole month we were out, probably because of the flooding and not necessarily because of use.Why five stars then? Well, we like how it works, plants look good, it was not expensive, and we think we overcame its deficiencies.Extra:We connected it a 3.2 battery from one of our yard solar cheap lighting system, and we hope the unit will not complaint on battery power any more, it is covered anyway.Final thoughts:This is what we think you can do on your own risk and forgetting about the warranty:Buy it, open it (take the four buttons out, carefully peel off the decal, and unscrew), tighten the valve actuator screws, consider drilling a very small holes at each of the valves sides without drilling the water channels, close it, put decal back, put buttons back, and enjoy it. Remember, do it at your own risk.Best regardsUpdate 04/27/2023:We broke it accidentally and just bought the same one again. We will immediately apply the latest recommendation on our previous review. We are confident it will work great.Best regards

Timer review
I bought 1st a different timer and later 3 of these. The blue one is working fine a few weeks into service. I use this timer to drip irrigate from a tub onto an individual tree until it can get established. My mountain soil is so poor it passes water through fast and wont retain moisture. This timer doesn't require water pressure- it just opens and shuts. Adjustable down to once per hour and as little as one minute. I get three days of watering repeatedly through out the days. You do have to watch them and make adjustments. That 1st one, a green different brand, is giving me trouble. These blue ones, once dialed in, are working with out any issues. Uses two AAA batteries. There is no clock to set. Time starts upon setting- three blinks to say ok and occasional blinks regularly timed to indicate 'all's well'. Good price and quick shipping. I'm pleased with them. Look at my photo to see the setup. A tub with flat sides, a bulk head fitting or a drain fitting for a swamp cooler-same thing, sprinkler fittings and away you go. I have on the very end a round drip fitting with a 1/16" hole in it to slow watering down even more but you don't need that. Literally 1 minute once per 2 or 4 hours will suffice. Try it out for newly planted trees or shrubs. I had an orange tree and watered by hand every day but it just stayed alive and got smaller. With this setup I have, now it's put on new growth, looks like it will make it now.

Not sure what size output side is. Not 1/2" or 3/4" pipe thread and not hose thread......
Cant find any fittings that will screw on output side. Nee d to sdapt to garden hose thread. Input is 3/4" pipe thread, output side who knows. Looks to be 3/4" but there are no 3/4" pipe fittings that will screw on. The thing is totally usless to me............EDIT TO ABOVE REVIEW.........THIS IS A TOTAL P.O.S.FINALLY FOUND FITTINGS TO ADAPT TO A GARDEN HOSE. THEN PUT BATTERIES IN IT ONLY TO DiSCOVER THAT IT TOTALLY DOES NOT WORK. CHANGED BATTERIES TO BE SURE IT WASN'T. MY PROBLEM. IT IS NOT. THE TIMER IS BAD STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. WOULD RECOMEND A 1000% THAT NO ONE BUY THIS TIMER. IF I COULD RATE LESS THAN 1 STAR I TOTALLY WOULD. IT IS JUST A CHEAP PIECE OF CRAP!!!

There isn't a way to set True Time
I love that it can handle near-zero-pressure systems. I'm watering trees in the desert from a 55-gallon barrel, siphoned from the bottom, out an opening, down to this control, and on to a drip line. Most other controllers can't deal with so little pressure. -- My problem is I need to do the watering before sunrise, so I want to set it for 4:00 AM. But I can't "set" it for 4:00 AM. I have to be there at 4:00 AM and tell it to water every 48 hours. Then I have no way of knowing if this internal clock is drifting unless I'm there (at 4:00 AM) to watch if anything happens. -- I so much wish this had a true clock so I could set the current time, then the operation time to (4) . Then at any ol' time, I could check if its current time matches reality. -- I have to have this operate in the dark because here in the near-Phoenix summer, the black water lines will heat up to 200 degrees and the water coming out will scorch the tree roots. Burying the lines in the sand only means there is more thermal mass to heat up the water. (Life is bizarre in the desert.) -- Yes, I chose this control with its nice simple operation dials, but I give three stars for anything Average. I don't give 5 stars unless something is so great that I go door to door telling people about it.

works well
Works as advertized, i.e. especially no water pressure on the feeding line is required. And yes, after setting the opening time and repeat interval, the first opening will only occur after the first repeat interval has elapsed.
