I gave this to my son as a Christmas gift and he loves it. It's everything he wanted in a keyboard.

Perfect for children to learn with, and adults to play with
It's tricky to buy a decent keyboard for a child. Will she be interested-enough to continue with her lessons or not? I didn't want to spend a fortune on something that would end up being forgotten about after a short time but equally I wanted to buy something that had good sounds, a decent feel to the keys, and good construction - something that would encourage my little girl to continue playing.I guess I'd place this at the upper-end of the cheap keyboards. It's plastic-y as you'd expect but the plastics are good, and the whole unit has a quality "weight" to it. The sounds are decent and the built-in speakers make a good job of reproducing them. The keys are weighted, insofar that you can evoke different strengths to the sounds by playing harder but they are not piano-action key - you have to pay a fair bit more for that.Get a decent stand that has screw-in straps - you can then secure the keyboard to the stand to stop anyone knocking it off.I've had much fun playing this myself - it's like having a piano in the house but far more convenient as it is more portable and takes much less room.

Compact Light Portable
Now that you can largely teach yourself to play piano FOR FREE via YouTube I thought I'd go back to square one and catch up on all the theory that I foolishly skipped years ago. This is an instrument suitable as a learning tool for piano. It has the sound of a good home keyboard but no more, the speakers are small and the whole thing is stripped back to make it slim, light and portable. The headphone sound output is excellent and the feel of the keys good.As always with Yamaha you get a very good instrument for the money, it looks and feels well made and looks very elegant on the L2C stand. Loses a star for having the power inlet at one end rather than the middle and only a seven foot lead. The Tiger 1050x350x130mm bag fits a treat.

good, though require external sound system for full enjoyment
It arrived promptly and well packaged. The piano itself is lighter than most, but I wouldn't recommend for children to carry it. It is easy for adult but not so for children. The piano itself is beautifully designed, exactly as the photos have shown. One recommendation is for buyers to purchase it with a headset - I went for the Hercules HDP DJ M40.1 and it sounds wonderful. The speakers of this piano isn't exactly the highest standards, while it does the job, having an external speaker or a headphone greatly improves the quality of the sound and encourages me to continue practicing because of the rich sound (which I think as paramount for a student or someone who was out of touch for 15 years like myself).

Slim and easy to use a modern day virginal?
This basic keyboard has a good piano sound and is not burdened with too many features. It also looks very neat, doesn't take up too much space and can be stowed away vertically. It does not have weighted keys so does not feel like a real piano but for a beginner or someone looking to play keyboard in the long run it is highly recommended. The internal speakers are adequate and the volume control works well. The instrument is designed for private use not concert performance. It has midi output sockets for those who want to go electronic.A couple of points for Amazon marketing... I was naturally disappointed that the price went up by more than 10% between the day I put it in my basket and actually finalised it but still think it is good value at £150. I was annoyed to get a mail shot saying that "customers who bought this also purchased" a mains charger since one is included. I think it may be true but it is not helpful of Amazon to encourage people to make that kind of error!

A high class piece of kit
I had been learning/teaching myself on a tiny keyboard, but ran out of notes. I'm glad I spent a bit more than I needed and got this lovely digital piano. It has a lovely tone and not too many whistles and bells to get me confused. I also bought the Yamaha stand and glad I did as it is very easy to fit and very stable.I can now play proper pieces and they sound pretty good (with the odd bum note from me) I would recommend this.
