Action superstar Brandon Lee portrays rebellious government agent Michael Gold who is sent on a desperate mission to a Soviet-controlled African nation in order to uncover a top-secret laser weapons operation and destroy it. There he meets German scientist Professor Braun (Ernest Borgnine) who possesses the deadly formula that could decimate the world. Gold's first attempt ends in failure when he is taken captive along with the professor. After a harrowing escape, Gold returns to South Africa with the assistance of Braun's beautiful daughter Alissa (Debi Monahan), but the rescue mission is further jeopardized when the girl is captured by the ruthless, power-mad Eckhardt (Werner Pochath).

This is what's wrong with the world today
Its possible the movie actually made a profit direct to video. This world is so unfair. That should not happen. This film is an incoherent mashup of badly done "action film" cliches. After viewing it, I don't know any of the character's names, why they did what they did, or even what happened. People run around from scene to scene, talk about stuff, and wave guns in wide arcs to dubbed machine gun sounds while everyone in front of them falls over. A few cheap cars are destroyed. I think it was filmed in South Africa, due to a ship in the background with the Ruwekus brand on it. Just a guess. There is scene where Ernest Borgnine, dressed as if to go to the mall with his wife, stumbles uselessly around in circles in the desert holding a skeet gun while people fight all around him. You cant make this stuff up. But... they did.The action hero guy gets shot in the torso and is bleeding out. He can barely walk. Then by movie magic the injury minimizes to merely a stain on his shirt, and in moments he continues running around doing the same crap for the rest of the movie. When you get shot with guns you have to shake it off. Don't let it get to you. You have to be bigger than your injury. The Riffers destroyed this movie, and it was glorious to behold. Also the scenery, where it was filmed, was interesting to see. This is in the upper tier of quality Rifftrax, in my opinion. I highly recommend it.

Now one of my favorite RiffTrax
Oh my how the RiffTrax crew relentlessly mocks this "movie". How could they not??? It helps that I consider it the "so bad it's good" type. I have found that after watching a number of RiffTrax, that I enjoy the ones where the original is laughable as well a bit more than some of the drearier movies they riff. Simply put, I laughed so hard I cried at one point. I would recommend this to any RiffTrax fan in a heartbeat. It's a shame that reviews for the said riffed movie being left here are dragging it's star rating down. . . mmmmkay? This is the RIFFTRAX VERSION people!!! wake up!

Hilarious
Top notch riffing and an unbelievable movie. Having watched MST3k for years, I was happy to find another source of great riffing. This is my favorite of Josh's entries. Watch as two well coifed, milk-skinned secret agents traverse the South African desert with nary a sunburn, or even freckle after hours in the sun. Without water, food, or mousse these two are always ready for the disco as they pursue the laser loving baddies, who are Ruskies? The riffs are funny and concise. It's a lot of riffing for one man to do alone, but Josh makes it look easy, and never breaks a sweat. Thanks for the laughs.

One of the crew’s better riffs
This review is for the RiffTrax version of “Laser Mission”: I’d actually give this 4 1/2 stars if I could. The movie itself was pretty bad, but the guys were definitely on the money with regard to perfectly timed, and spot-on hilarious riffs! Their cracks about Ernest Borgnine in particular were real, laugh-out-loud funny. I’d recommend Laser Vision as one of their better endeavors for sure.

Those Darn Glitches...
First, I want to make clear that any Josh Way production is well worth the price. I always enjoy his insightful commentary and his takes on the horrible cinema on view will greatly increase your enjoyment... but... As this is a DVD-R produced DVD, I was unlucky to receive a botched version. Stopped, started over, skipped, you name it, which really was irritating. So, by all means, buy Josh Way products, but beware of the technology.

Laser Mission was a great movie. My teenagers and my husband enjoyed it too. Now my teens want all of Brandon Lee's movies. Thanks Amazon for having such a wide variety of movies. I will continue to order from Amazon and their providers. I received my movie when the said and it came packaged as was said.

Film poco marziale
Peccato che c'erano poche scene di arti marziali. E' più un film di guerra.
