Incredibly detailed and helpful. This book made our first trip to England an amazing success.
Very detailed. It was like having my own private guide with me. Detailed maps of recommended areas, step by step directions for walking tours (or driving) of areas. The author also has audio bits to download that we used. This was the best money I spent. Buy it early and read up on different areas to decide how to spend your time. It was also helpful when we had to make last minute adjustments to our plans when places were closed that we had planned to visit.

Great travel book!
We used this book to plan our itinerary for our trip to England. Lots of useful information. We didn’t agree with his personal preferences always though. Some of the places he didn’t like, we thought were wonderful.

This book gave us tons to do
We recently used this book to guide us during a two-week trip to SW England. Our trip was mostly for hiking and the book was great. Yes, some minor things have changed since Covid, but it was still very useful.

Birmingham Left Out!
Bought the Kindle version while visiting England and was staying outside of Birmingham due to my wife's family. Only to find out that Birmingham is entirely left out of the book! The only real mention in the entire book is that the M6 toll is a good way to bypass it.It's the 2nd largest city in England, c'mon Rick!! And there's a lot to do there. It's like if someone released a travel book about California but left San Diego completely out of it. It's just a bizarre decision. The book also never even mentions Cadbury World even though it praises the chocolate. That said, the rest of the book covers England well and there's a reason Rick Steves is my go-to series for European travel guides. Even though you can find out some of the same information online, I like the background historical information and walks that he puts together. So I guess if you're skipping Birmingham then get this book, but it's just such a massive oversight.

So much information for planning anywhere in England!
I love Rick Steves and his travel shows on TV. While several of the recommended hotels have closed permanently due to COVID, the information was detailed for every town we want to visit. We don't want to book tours in advance but with this book we have plenty of details about what to see, where to park, restaurant recommendations, etc.

Not the only source to consult
As a fan of Rick Steves, I bought this book for a recent trip. There is nothing wrong with his tips, advice, and recommendations. I found many that were just terrific. But there are other books to use for additional information about a destination. For the maximum travel experience, I suggest reading more than one travel book.

Rick Steves does a great job!
I have used Rick Steves travel guides for over twenty five year touring Europe. The best by far with very helpful hints that save time and temper. This edition was a gift to friends that are planning their first trip abroad. As I scanned through the book it seemed to me the print was too small to read comfortably. I’m sure the content is spot on.

Very useful information, great book!
Even with all the information available online nowadays, this book is still very much worth the money. The author gives not only comprehensive travel guides but also his opinion about what to choose to visit based on the time you have. Very helpful for me.
