This is a must have in the vinyl/sign industry. This is one is as good, if not better than the one sold at fellers for almost double the price.

Use this to cut 651 vinyl off plotter. Works perfect. Wish I had found this. years ago. I would buy again and from the same seller.

AND NOW THE FINE PRINT: Not included in the item description, yet printed in small letters on the back of the package is: "This cutter will ONLY cut the backing paper on self-adhesive vinyl" !!!NEWS FLASH: Those of us who handle vinyl sheets, rolls and such need the ability to not only cut the backing sheet as needed, but also the vinyl along WITH the backing sheet. Or, through the masking tape that sometimes covers the vinyl ! This tool, if we accepted that limitation, would be like buying a utility knife that would only cut the cardboard on boxes, but not the labels or tape ON the boxes!So, with practice, I was able to cut the backing paper AND the vinyl, along with the transfer masking paper cover! The cuts were difficult to get started at the edge, but once going, the angle of the tool fit my hand so well, that straight and curved cuts were very easy. I realized the blades supplied with this great tool were not up the task. I have ordered BIC brand DE (double edge) chrome platinum coated standardized blades here on Amazon. I believe this will make a big difference in ease of use. Standardized blades are also a BIG PLUS, since they are available all over the planet. I avoid tools needing proprietary parts, especially blades.An example of blade quality is the common Xacto #11 blade used widely in the graphics industry. We upgraded to the Xacto "Z" blades a few years back, finding that the increased purchase price was soon out-weighed by blade longevity, accurate cutting, time saved and ease of use! Simple math, common sense.I will revisit this review after we try the better blades. Here's hoping!

A very good knife you can cut the backing without damaging the vinyl, specially for a beginner you don't have to keep reposition the vinyl.

This thing is built nice (ergonomic) the blades get dull quick and at most you'll probably get 2-3 cuts max. I put them in practice and I was able to cut 2- 48" and - 36" wide vinyl backing paper pieces per blade/PTFE felt piece. Then you'll need to change the blade and the PTFE coating, so at most you'll get 10-15 cuts in total once you rung thru all the PTFE felt pieces 5 total.
