Very interesting and handy multi tool ATAX = All Terrain Ax
Great addition to a survival kit.Great for pilots of small planes where space is at a premium. Or hiking in the wilderness. It is fairly compact.***It comes with an instructional DVD which you must watch in order to figure out how to use all of the features***This works best as a 2 or more knife kit. It can work well as a small hatchet, there are a few different ways to attach a stick you find in the field as a handle. You can do small chopping without turning it into an axe. Re adjusting your grip will allow you to do some fine work. Love mt ATAX
The Atax is an amazing tool.I love that they give you an in depth cd to all of it's features.The atax is not the only tool I'd bring with me, and it even says it's designed to be a back up, or secondary tool to another knife, so this has to be kept in mind when buying one.It is extremely well made, and I have put a pounding to it, and it has performed flawlessly, and held up extremely well. The steel and heat treat are well done, as well as the coating.It is a well thought out design, with great features, even if you won't use them all.It's expensive to be sure, but you get what you pay for.

Unique tool with tons of features.
Great tool, with a nice DVD explaining its features. Bought it as a gift for someone really into survival and the outdoors, he loved it. DVD was a little smashed up from shipping, but still played.

missing pieces
After watching the CD that came with this ax, we took apart the handle and nothing was in it. There was supposed to be other gadgets inside the handle. Ours was empty.

a true woods tool
couldnt wait to open the box,not every day i recieve a tool of this calibre.an axe,a rangefinder,an angle gauge a sundial,awesome!!! all that and its american made ! ron hood is smiling down at earth knowing he left such a good tool as a part of his legacy.
