Think Like a Genius! (is more like it) Step by Step Brilliance.
I got this book for one reason. Specifically to train my two Great Pyrenees puppies. Guess what, I got EXACTLY what I was hoping for too, you know (a book to train my two Great Pyrenees puppies). I already knew about my puppies that is why I got them to begin with. So if you need to learn everything about them, maybe this isn't your book, but if you want to TRAIN your great Pyrenees super fast to listen and obey you today, and in a very simple and INGENIOUS way, then this is exactly the Great Pyrenees training book you need. I know dogs, and a little about training, but my new favorite dog training author 'Paps' knows exactly how to teach you how to teach your dog exactly what you want and need your dog to do now. This is a Great 'Great Pyrenees' dog training guide. In my opinion number one on amazon.

Helped Make Decision
I have been considering a LGD for our place. Since I knew nothing about them, I decided to research and read. This book is full of valuable information. After reading, I will not be getting a dog for guarding the livestock right now. The Book helped me understand how much work is involved in training one.

Too disorganized for my taste.
I have never seen anything like this before, the book has 2 sections repeated. At first I thought perhaps one was an updated section, it is not. It is kind of like reading a wordy blog post. There are strange ads printed into the book randomly. I thought it would take a humorous spin in accordance with the title, not so much. Most of the information can be seen in varying youtube channels. I did purchase 2 Pyr books, the other one I purchased is professional, clear, direct and well composed. I would recommend the Walker version over this one.

Pyrs temperament
Good advice (despite the studied jokiness) about training most dogs, but author demonstrates little understanding of the unique temperament of Great Pyrenees breed. Proof he has pasted the account together simply using a boilerplate without proper editing is on p. 12, where he writes "think of all the things your Flat-Coated Retriever will encounter...".Anyway, besides correcting that howler, Mr Pearce should learn more about the unusual temperament and behaviour (and thus training demands) of the Pyrs breed.

Not for training a livestock guard dog.
I recently acquired a GP with the intention of using him as a livestock guard dog, living with the livestock, as GP are commonly used for. I bought this book to assist with training (teaching not to chase livestock, respect fences, bond with the stock, etc.) Unfortunately, I started reading it and realized this is for house dog training, not for livestock guard dog. I stopped reading. A waste of money for my purposes. Probably good if you have a pet pyrenees though.
