a 2020 product update by a consumer
I have been using Dex4 products, especially the grape tablets, for about 2 decades. I've had Type 1 diabetes since 1973. I happen to also be an RN.This product is the best one at consistently raising blood glucose values in the event of a hypoglycemic (low) reading that I have come across. I chose to use this instead of generic/store brands for that reason. However, as you can see by other reviewers, the product has been MIA a lot over the past few years. I did some digging. This product is produced in Canada and shipped to the US. It appeared that the shipments were being phased out. Since I live within one hour of one of the US distributors, I contacted them to see what was going on. I was more than willing to drive to that city/facility to purchase them on site. While I was not told it was due to trade/politics, I'm sure that played a part.Previously, you could purchase this product in a pharmacy or chain store and pay $5.98 US per bottle of 50. If you find that price and availability again, please send up smoke signals! Amazon has been carrying this product sporadically for the past 2 years at prices of UP TO $33 PER 50 TABLETS. When the price was $5.98, shipping was reasonable; you ordered four bottles and paid appropriate shipping costs. Don't lecture about shipping costs unless you are riding a burro up to Canada and hauling the product back here one bottle at a time for distribution - this is PRICE GOUGING to a captive audience.I suppose improved trade relations between the US and Canada could result in more reasonable and available products. Until then, if you are like me and can go through a bottle (59) a month, you will likely have to resort to generic because otherwise it is cost prohibitive. My best wishes to all of us struggling with this challenging disease!

Do a great job
Compared to other brands of glucose tablets, these do the job just right! They work fast enough, seem to have the exact number of carbs indicated (4g), can conveniently be broken in halves, and have flavors that our daughter likes.

Pricey Great Tasting Tabs
Great tasting BG tablets that work fast. Grape flavor is wonderful and reminds me of childhood which can be really great when you have low BG. Unfortunately since I placed my last bulk order in June 2017, the price per bottle has risen from $5.99 ($7.58 total with S&H) to over $17.00, a rise of over 100%! Unfortunately I will have to search elsewhere for a reasonably priced Glucose Tablet.

Taste great and works fast
Sometimes I get low blood sugar at work and have nothing around to eat so I keep a bottle of these in my desk. The grape tastes delicious (haven't tried other flavors) and just one tablet works fast to stabilize me until I can get a proper meal/snack.
