This tool is an old school method of measuring viscosity. It’s based off of Isaac Newton’s law of viscosity. This is a manual way to do it. Though I think this is a little pricey, it’s a cheaper option than spending $400+ on a digital viscometer.The quality seems good. It’s made of nice, solid materials like brass and aluminum for the cups. The stand is very secure. This has a built in level, a ruler for measuring, and also a stopper/latch that holds in the solution on the top (brass) cup. After filling the brass cup, you just move the latch over while simultaneously starting a timer to run the test.We had a hard time figuring out the chart and how to actually get the correct reading from timing out the test. This would be best for someone who is already familiar with Newton’s viscosity method.
